I just saw the most amazing video which shows the representative of Chidoriya line (a Japanese beauty line, based on traditional oils, etc.) foaming and lathering up her facial soap bar. Its produced by the guys at Smallflower (a GREAT 'apothecary' type cosmetics/etc. website. Go there and get lost!)
But what I want you to see in this video is how she lathers up the soap bar and makes the foam grow. Its AMAZING. And I've never seen this technique!
Side commentary: I think a lot of people don't lather up their cleansers enough and end up putting the gel or soap right on the skin. I was taught when I was younger, that its the FOAM, the activated cleanser, that does the actual cleaning and this cushioning layer keeps you from tugging on your skin.
(I do something similar with my gel Alpha Hydrox cleanser, where I add drops of water and keep going until the foam is thick, but I do it rubbing my hands together, but I'm now going to try this technique shown in the video!! .... So in other words, I think we could easily adapt this technique to our bar and gel and liquid cleansers with great success.)
Anyhow, I hope you can enjoy this video. Just go to youtube and search on "Chidoriya Azuki Red Bean and Brown Sugar Soap" and look for the video produced by "smallflowertv" or go directly to the 'smallflowertv' channel. Video was produced in 2013.
(Apparently I can't post a direct link here, sorry! But if you use a facial bar soap, please go check it out, its super cool.)
She does two other videos with the guys if you're interested in learning more about the line. Both produced by 'smallflowertv' and one is titled only "Chidoriya" and the other is titled "Chidoriya Camelllia Oil and Satsuma Tsuge Boxwood Brush."
Let me know what you think!
