Gray hair blues

Ok, I've got gray hair and am trying to deal with it. I went from nearly white/blonde (when I was a kid) to dish water blonde (started to "enhance" my natural color) and am now "enhancing" but can tell I'm getting gray becuase THEY STICK UP ON MY HEAD!! I've heard gray hair is a different texture than your normal hair and now I know! So . . . two questions:

1. What is the best way/product to keep those gray suckers down?

2. Should I continue to "enhance" or just let it go? (I'm 48).

What do y'all think?
