I'm 75 and have silver white hair and mostly silver hair as my eyebrows.  One of my eyebrows is thick and a good shape, my other eyebrow is practically bald and skinny.  I have to try to match up and even out my eyebrows every morning.  A big challenge!

I used a blonde eyebrow pencil for decades because my younger hair was blonde and the blonde color seemed to work as my hair turned white...... until the last year or so.  Now the lightest blonde eyebrow pencil I can find seems too dark.   So I bought a light gray eyebrow pencil thinking it would solve my problem.  It didn't.  It looks weirder than the blonde.

So, I'm asking for your help and suggestions.  Have any of you had luck using a gray eyebrow pencil?  What methods you can suggest?   Thanks!

@tototwo.  I also have silver hair and have tried various pencils in different colors.  I found the gray one did nothing for me.  Have heard beauty "experts" suggest using the color of your natural hair before it turned gray and thought it was the most flattering so that's  what ive used ever since.

I tried a gray eyebrow pencil and didn't like how it looked.  Thought it washed me out and didn't frame my face like I wanted.  Like @Kachina624 said I have heard many makeup artist mention using an eyebrow pencil that matched my hair color before it turned gray.  Tried that and liked it so much better that I never went back to gray.  If you have an ULTA or Sephora near you, it might be worth going in and trying a few blonde shades - Benefit has a few different shades.

Thank you, Ladies.  Actually, I only used the gray pencil once.  It seemed to match my eyebrow hair, but looked bizarre on my face.   I went back to using my good ol' Cover Girl blonde because it looked better.  Not perfect, but better.   I appreciate your input.

My natural hair was blonde so I use MAC "fling."

Never thought grey brows looked right!

My natural hair color was black, it shined blue in the sun. I am now gray/white and use IT Cosmetics Brow Power Micro Eyebrow Pencil, I love it and have used it since Jamie's first appearance on QVC. I have always used the Taupe the pressure one uses on the pencil changes the color. From the site: "Universal transforming shade adjusts to your eyebrow color. Apply softer strokes for lighter hair colors including blonde and silver. Press harder for darker hair including brown and black. To finish, lightly brush through brows with the spooley brush for a natural, polished look."  It works for me and I love that it has staying power.

I have brownish grey hair--and I use a taupe and a light brown---seems I get more of a natural look using 2 shades than just one. My go to is from benefit--shade 2.5 and shade 3.

The Rep who sells RMS beauty products has gray hair . She says she does her brows in color  that matched her natural shade.

My mother used to use a #2 pencil to fill hers in.

Hi,

someone on this forum recommended this pencil. I have salt n pepper, silvery ash brown hair. My eyebrows are thin on the outside too. I like this pencil-smudge it a bit after applying.
