I'm looking for a good clarifying shampoo to use once a week as I use a lot of products and hairspray on my hair. I get my hair colored at the salon so I'm looking for something that won't cause all my color to run down the drain! Anyone have any suggestions (drugstore or prestige brands)?

@Jordan2

ACURE makes a lemongrass and argan shampoo and conditioner -- their "Curiously Clarifying" duo.  Great scent. Woman Happy

MakeupAlley gave high reviews for ION shampoo from Sally's.  93% said they would buy it again.

@Jordan2   My suggestions is Acure clarifying shampoo.  Sulfate free and the scent is lemongrass.  Under $10.

Re: Good Clarifying Shampoo

[ Edited ]

You're in luck, @Jordan2 !

This is one of those rare cases where the inexpensive choice is also extremely effective and widely available.

Removes heavy buildup or light residue.

  Suave Daily Clarifying shampoo.

PS   I also use this to clean my white window blinds once a year in the bathtub. Degreases kitchen blinds better than anything else I ever used.

@Jordan2   I know Mitchell makes one and Moroccanoil, too. I finally settled on good old Neutrogena anti-residue shampoo. Thinking most clarifying shampoos are tough on color treated hair and they’re drying. I’ve never “clarified” more than once a month per my stylist. Even w/ silver hair, no color, it’s quite drying.

@goldensrbest  Here are my favorites:  Volume shampoo by Acure is excellent.  Even if you sometimes air dry your hair, you still get volume.  Then I have the Lemongrass Clarifying and also Mega Moisture shampoo.  I alternate between these 3 and sometimes I use a purple shampoo to take any yellow casts out to my salt & pepper hair.
