Thank you.

You will like the freedom of not having to color it, pay for it, and worry about it. Go for the natural.

Even tho it's a verrry personal decision, I will always encourage a lady who is "chronologically advancing" to let it go grey. She might be pleasantly surprised how lovely her silver hair is -- or she may choose to go back to the bottle of dye. Her choice.
Got for it, @bargainsgirl!!!!!!

Yes to all cancer survivors on tamoxifin--thinning hair can be a side effect!!!! I am currently trying the Kerinique line of hair care that HSN had as a TS a few weeks ago--haven't noticed much yet but I have til the end of Jan to see if it will work for me.

IT'S A 'NO BRAINER'.....If money is a factor, GO GREY....
If you don't want to look old, KEEP DYING...

@bargainsgirl- Based on all the opinions here, why don't you try it out and if you don't like it, you can always go back to coloring...good luck with whatever you decide. ![]()

@bargainsgirl wrote:I have dark brown chin length hair and whispy bangs. My hair has thinned but not sure if it is due to Tamoxifen (2 1/2 more years to go) or genes...I am 65. I have been thinking of cutting it short and going grey in hopes that it might stop thinning if I stop dying it. I am so very tired of the cost as well. Any thoughts?
That is a hard one! I have been toying with this decision also. I am a natural blond but my hair darkened as I got older. My "colored" hair is a very light golden blond and has been for the most of my life. I now probably have more gray than not and I keep thinking --- should I just let it grow out? I am going longer and longer between colorings. I do it myself so it is not expensive but I hate doing it. And my hair is also getting thinner and is more dry than it was and I also thought if I stopped coloring perhaps the condition of it would be better. I am still torn so I understand how you feel. Why not give it a shot? You can always go back to coloring it if you really don't like it at all.

I decided my fate of going gray or keep dying my hair years ago! I have observed women that let their hair grow gray...they all look so O L D!!! They've aged at least 20 years!! That's when my vanity took over my logic. I will never, ever stop coloring my hair. I love the variety I have with going light, going dark, highlighting, lowlighting, etc. I never look the same and I'm certainly not going to get stuck looking a LOT older than I am by having gray hair.

I envy those of you with grey or white hair evenly on your head. I am 69+, have splotches of white hair - in my part towards the back, and one just in the back. Otherwise, my natural hair color is a very ashy dark brown which is not very attractive. So I dye it at home - a warm brown. My mother had the same color pattern as me along with one of my sisters. The other three sisters take after my father and they are 100% grey/white.
