Glo Minerals v. Bareminerals

Has anyone tried Glo Minerals? Did you like it? How was the finish? The wear? The color match for you?

I can't us BM Original as it sits in every pore and has a weird pasty finish on my face, even with primer. And I can never get a good color match. The Matte is a bit better in terms of finish, but again, I can't seem to get a good color match (I'm fair with golden undertones but red cheeks, BM is either too pink on me, or too yellow.)

Glo Minerals seems to have a lot of colors. I'm thinking about giving it a try. Where do you like to purchase it from?

I tried Glo Minerals several years ago but prefer Jane Iredale, when I purchased the Glo Minerals they had a no return policy, which I'm not sure if they still have in place, but Jane Iredale wants you to be happy with her products and will refund or exchange. I like the BB cream and the pressed powder, but I need full coverage, s not sure what kind of coverage you are looking for. Also her primer is wonderful and no testing on animals. They will also send you samples of anything you are interested in before you purchase. They sent me 2 BB creams for color match, 2 loose powders and 2 pressed powders, and a dream tint sample. All sample sizes but it helped me with my purchase.

I have the same problem with Bare Minerals so I switched to Merle Norman's Purely Mineral powder foundation in a jar and really like it. When you first see it you may notice little sparklies (I was worried about that). When they put it on me it just appeared slightly dewy...not oily at all on me. It lasts forever and while it makes a good foundation...I also like it very much as a finishing powder if I choose to wear liquid makeup that day. It is beautiful all by itself. I have normal to dry skin if that makes a difference.

Re: Glo Minerals v. Bareminerals

Over the summer I was using Glo Minerals liquid foundation. It was satin with a dewy finish. I can't remember where it came from - maybe Amazon. I got the wrong color but could still use it. I got the golden fair but it's too golden and needed the natural fair. I also have red cheeks like you and my nose is also red and used it on those parts of my face, but it was too dark for the rest of my face. You might be able to use the golden fair, unless you're interested in powder. Anyway, the liquid sticks to the dry patches in the winter (my skin is really dry right now) and looks pasty on me. Needless to say, I'm on the hunt for something else!

Sorry, I've never heard of Glo Minerals. Is it loose mineral powder foundation?

I used Bare Minerals back around 2000. I switched and tried various other indy mineral companies shortly thereafter.

My HG mineral foundation is from Cory Cosmetics. She also has it in a creamy stick formation which is very nice. I buy my shadows and blushes from Cory as well as many from Meow Mineral Cosmetics too. You might also like Silk Naturals.

I enjoy supporting these small indy on line companies.

I use their Zinc powder and Luxury silk powder everyday, love them. They're both very white but don't leave a white cast on my skin. Have a few of the blushes, too. The sample sizes last forever.

Honeybee Gardens makes a nice Mineral foundation, 2 of my friends use it. Ulta carries some of their line now, but you can order samples from Honeybees website.
