I just used Mallys gel nail kit for the first time and love it (woo hoo!). But my toes still have regular polish on them and I'd like to remove it and do my toes as well. I do not want to use nail polish remover to remove polish from my toes if it might mess up my gel fingernails....I can try to be careful but I may get some nail polish remover on my fingers.

Will acetone wreck the shine on my gel fingernails? Thanks. I know that this stuff is hard to remove, but I'd hate to damage the finish since I just applied it.

Wear a pair of gloves or get someone to remove it for you.  I have been in a fix like that and my hubby did it for me.

I always keep gloves on hand so I don't ruin my nails:-)

Thank you teacups, I don't know why gloves didn't occur to me! I have those blue hospital gloves with no latex - Ill try it tonight after work and see how it goes. What type of gloves do you use? I don't think the acetone will burn a hole through these but I'll try to be careful anyway.

Great suggestion for times I'm wearing regular polish on my nails and forgot about my toes! I was tempted to just go get a pedicure, but I always do my own nails. Smiley Happy

Another option is to use non-acetone polish remover. I got my nails done at the salon a couple of days ago, gel on my fingers and regular polish on my toes. Well...of course I had to mess up one toe after leaving the salon. In the process of fixing my toe nail I got polish on one of my finger nails. Yeah, that's why I don't do my own! LOL

I was a bit scared but I used some non-acetone remover on my finger nail to clean up my boo boo, and it didn't alter the gel polish in any way. I'm not sure if this would work with all gel polish.
