I have light brown hair (#7), so when I put highlights in I use bleach. I love Revlon Frost & Glow. I get the honey colored one for brown hair. I love the beige colored highlights I get from this better than any other highlighting product I've used. I use a cap b/c I find that I put the highlights on a little too heavy when I just paint them on. I get several uses out of one kit and I just buy extra caps at Sallys.

I used to do it all the time, but haven't done it in ages. I'd buy a highlighting kit in the drug store. It was called quiet touch. One if the regular color companies made it. I assume they still do. It was blonde highlights. You could make them barely noticeable all the way to the other extreme. I did the other extreme a couple times by accident. At first it looked really bad, but after some time they calmed down.
