Re: Gals with rosacea and paulas choice products...Am I the only one who doesn't like them??

I have actually replied three times to this thread and its gone. I was busy and it took me a little time to finish so maybe I took too long. Hmmm. I have just the red face. No broken capalaries or anything but I have pale skin so I have a red face with very white eyelids. Picture falling asleep in the sun with goggles on! Not attractive. So here is what I have tried. Cetaphil made my face red immediately. So did natural honey. I heard that honey is very good for the skin but it irritated mine. Ponds cold cream was OK but felt a little greasy and made my forehead brake out. It didn't irritate my rosacea. Clinique redness solution made my face a little red so I took that back to get my money back. Too expensive. So this past Saturday I tried aveno ultra calming foaming cleanser and I love it. Perfect for me. My skin feels great and clean. It didn't irritate my rosacea. I also started on Saturday ROC retinol correxion deep wrinkle moisturizer day and night. Love it too! My face feels great and is looking pretty good. Since I got rosacea I have been scared to try anything on my face but I have to start somewhere. Plus I'm 47 and need anti aging so I was at Walmart and decided to go for it. I would like Rx retinol or retin a and thought I would try an OTC product which probably has very little in it first. Kinda getting my face ready for the good stuff! Just using the aveno and ROC has made my face look pretty good. I actually feel a little pretty. Now my next huge step is make up! I used be but had to stop because it irritated my rosacea. I like powder foundations. Liquid seems to age me. But I can't wait to find what works for me. Thanks for listening!

Re: Gals with rosacea and paulas choice products...Am I the only one who doesn't like them??

I think this whole discussion pinpoints the frustration for those of us who have rosacea. There is no one treatment or skin care that works for everyone with rosacea. Unfortunately, it comes down to trial and error for most of us. In my case, a lot of error before I find something that works. And even more frustrating, something that works beautifully for me for years can all of a sudden start irritating my skin.

I found PC products to be highly irritating. I have found 2 companies that provide great skin care for sensitive & rosacea skin. The sensitive skin formula form SKINN (in the green & white bottles) and I'm have great success with ASDM Beverly Hills products. I can't spell the name of the cream, but it's listed on their front page with a description of the product. Starts with a T.

Re: Gals with rosacea and paulas choice products...Am I the only one who doesn't like them??

I use PC and have had good luck with it but I noticed an even bigger improvement when I combined it with Bare Minerals Ready foundation. If I use just PC and no BE Ready my rosacea is ok but I will see some redness or bumps. If I use just BE and no PC moisturizer then my face is too dry and flaky, but combine the two and I get perfect results. It's like the PC is giving my skin the right moisture it needs and the BE covers and keeps my skin from getting too oily in the T zone. Go figure..

I have mild rosacea and my skin can get slightly oily in the T zone in the summer and can be a little dry in the winter. I use PC skin recovery cleanser & moisturizer with SPF during the day and then top it with the BE foundation. At night I use the PC cleanser, toner & night moisturizer. I have to go easy on the toner , I use very little and I also only use the BHA 1% lotion a couple times a week at most.

The PC products have also really helped with fine lines and wrinkles though I don't have many yet as I am only in my mid 40s but I do see a difference.

It took me awhile to find the right combination of skincare and makeup that worked with my skin. Philosophy's Purity was causing flare ups and I tried several other cleansers including ZenMed which seems to work for many and some drug store brands before finally settling on PC. Also after starting to use PCs products it took me awhile to find the right makeup that didn't make things worse too. I tried IT, Bobbi Brown, Physicans Formula and even PC foundation but BE Ready works the best. Like many have said, with rosacea there can be A LOT of trial and error until you find what works for you.

Jbnh- I may have to give BE ready foundation a try. For several years I used the regular BE but started to not like it as much, wanted liquid again.thanks!
