Every morning, I look in the magnified side of my mirror (😏) poking away at once used to be an easy to find “hole”. Now, for some reason, it no longer goes straight through. Posts do better that hoops w/ wires. Those take forever to snake through.
Contacted surgeon buddy and he said it’s no big deal. A few stitches to close old piercings, make another hole and done. Well, at least I can stop yelling “Oh Snap” (& much worse) for 15-20 minutes each morning.
Anyone else finding earrings more impossible to put on now?

I have the same problem, but I assumed it's because I don't wear my hoops everyday (retired).

Same thing has happened to me. I wish I knew a surgeon who could fix that for me! I ive in a rural area so finding someone to fix it for me is nonexistant!

@Shanus I had that problem with one ear lobe, so had it pierced again. Now, due to the trouble of getting them in, I don't wear them any longer, but have thought about giving it a third try.

Yep, I was lax in wearing earrings for over a year and one ear is tight, the other is closed.
but the hole is still visible so I’m going to tell them to repierce in the same spot.
Not looking forward to the first few months, but heck, I have really pretty earrings and I’m wearing them again!

I have a ear hole problem, but different than what was posted,i wore my studs to sleep in for weeks, well my left ear hole became larger,i lost a diamond earing last winter, finally found it after, praying, and crying ,my husband bought them years ago, he passed in 2013.

Yes.
Over the last, oh,10yrs...my left lobe forms a hard lump over
a period of months. I begin noticing it when my posts are hard
to poke through. I poke & poke...then insert the post from back/front
to make the hole easier to insert front/back. All this fussing gets
the earring in, but it’s tender all night.
Disclaimer: I only wear earrings 1-2x week.
I believe it’s a cyst of some sort because I can massage it over time
and suddenly it’s gone. I know a derm could probably make an
incision & extract the cyst sack but at this point in life, I’m not
wearing earrings that much anymore. One wouldn’t notice anything
if I’m not fussing with it.
Getting them re-pierced?
I got very light-headed when I got them pierced the first time
when I was 16. I don’t think I could do it a 2nd time! Good luck!

@arrabella Any doc can do it. Heck, when I took my daughter to get her ears pierced, she said kids were piercing eachother’s during lunch at school. Yuck!

Something similar happened to my (now) 93 year old Mom. She had her ears pierced and wore earrings for decades. She started to have trouble putting in earrings (due to eye sight I think) and stopped for a few months. I tried to put earrings in for her, and her holes had closed up. So surprised they closed up after only a few months of not wearing earrings.

@lrmuffin He said my “holes were too low from lobes aging”. I had a few unkind words for him after we had a good laugh and decided he should find another way to phrase that to patients who aren’t friends. He’s stitching these up and centering the new ones. I assume I can put earrings in immediately. With my really short hair, I feel naked w/o them.
