Re: Foundation for someone over 50

Almost 60 and switched from BE to It Cosmetics and Pur Minerals. My trusted BE had lost it's charm and was making my skin look older. Now I use Smashbox primer and these new foundations nd get complements on my skin once again!

Looks very natural & feels like you don't have foundation on at all . Major complaints on customer reviews , is that the compact only last a few weeks . It has a sponge top in the compact, that holds a liquid foundation. The first shipment includes a gorgeous brush for application . I'm using just a little at a time , under good lighting , so I can see what it will look like outdoors . I like it so far , but im anxious to see how much the product will last . Reordering foundation every 3 weeks like some say, is quite expensive . Hope you find one you like !

I bought Mally's foundation with the same delivery system. It's a beautiful foundation, but that delivery lasts about two weeks. Hers also comes with a nice application brush. I won't get it again as it's way too much for so little.

PS: I've found creams and liquid work while all the powders I've tried are a no go.

You don't mention coverage -- light? medium? full? Check out Laura Mercier's tinted moisturizer & foundations (she has several & highly rated). I use her oil-free tinted moisturizer and also have a foundation of hers. Read the descriptions, read the reviews. Nordstrom also sells her products (free shpg). Everything is returnable at LM's & Nordies.

I used Clinique as a 20 year old and still use it in my 60's! Great products!

ITA. Clinique does have some great products, and they are reasonably priced. I use some of their products and have for years.

I still use their exfoliating scrub regularly, it's the best I have found for oily skin and I won't be without it.

Clinique products are least likely to break me out, they have some really effective items.

It's so hard to find products that are effective yet gentle for oily skin, especially for OLDER oily skin that may be acne prone due to hormonal effects of perimenopause and menopause.

Women in their 50s and 60s have skin issues that younger (and older) women don't have. Clinique has so many items that don't contain fragrance that are so nice.

Clinique is all I have ever used. I'm 62, and other women comment about how nice my complexion is. I don't over do it and it looks very natural. I've tried other foundations, but they make my skin feel weird.{#emotions_dlg.blush}

Re: Foundation for someone over 50

Well, if your skin is like mine, some of these mentioned here won't work for you. I tried the Even Better by Clinique and it was a no-go. Tarte did not work either---much too drying, and the Foundcealer broke me out when nothing ever breaks me out. I did NOT like Dior Star or EL Perfectionist or NARS new ALL Day Luminous serum foundation---the last was so drying.

Just in case you are like me, my faves are Revlon Colorstay for Normal to Dry skin, NARS Sheer Glo,Estee Lauder Invisible Fluid, and---if money is no object---I just got a sample--- SISLEY Phyto Teint Expert...this last one is unbelievable. And unbelievably expensive!

Re: Foundation for someone over 50

I just turned 50 last December and I am using Clinique Acne solutions. I tend to still break out some. This formula is very light and color really matches my skin tone. I used and really loved Bare Minerals but really made me look old.

NARS sheer glow - you won't be disappointed.
