BB and CC creams make me an oil slick, and they stay tacky. I would first start with L'Oreal True Match. I get good coverage and it's buildable, does not make me oily after many hours. During the winter the True Match Lumi works better for me.

@MarieIG I just saw where you responded and just today I received the foundation I'd ordered that was the Next darker one. Remember, I always order the lightest and I thought, "OK! I'll ALSO order the next darker one because maybe I'll get a little sun!"
Ugh! I put it on my hand and it looked terrible! I posted somewhere (hard to tell I bla bla so much I can't keep up with it) but I did post somewhere that I don't have hardly any wrinkles and/or age spots.....but...if you look at my hands, well, they don't look too good...
So that's where I smeared this darker stuff on my hand (I have a dark spot on my hand and I test things there. Well! Every wrinkle showed up...not not just showed up...my hand looked like a freaking road map! Good grief! I don't know if it was just because it was a little too dark or if it was 'illuminator' makeup. It was called this...

@SandGirl It depends on what you want to spend. Now Rihanna came out with a full coverage foundation that is reasonably priced and she offers a ton of shades with different undertones sold at Sephora. Dior, Armani, Chanel all have beautiful foundations and Estee Lauder too. Personally, I would check out Rihanna's because $50 and $60 & up for foundation gets old quickly.

I am intrigued by what you posted about the machine at Sephora that tells you what kind and color makeup you should wear. I never heard of this and think this might be really a great thing to do! I think the clostest one to me is about an hour away. Do you need to make an appointment to do this? Thanks so much!!!
Hi @AngelPuppy1! I don't think you need an appointment, but I would call the store and ask anyway. I think it would be worthwhile for you to try this.

You didn't say what type of skin you have, but ... I almost always wear MAC Matchmaster foundation. I find it works well with dry/combination skin. My finishing powder is also MAC - Mineralize Skinfinish Natural. For brown spots, broken capillaries and little breakouts I use Estee Lauder Double Wear Concealer (Stay-in-Place Flawless Wear). You don't need to use much of these products to get results. But they all have good coverage IMO.
Primers, I do like the IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Pores, it works well for me. I also like Clinique Pep-start Hydroblur moisturizer.
Good luck with your search.

@beach-mom....You don't need an appointment...if the store is busy you might have to browse a bit..I have had it done, and then they can send you home with a couple of samples to try out.

@Annabellethecat66 yes, I remember reading that you don't have hardly any wrinkles and that you use Dr. D. (I use her too, but I also use other stuff. Don't ask what I spend on skin care.) I also test on my hand first, not for the color match as my hands are slightly darker, but for the texture. The skin on my face is pretty good too. My hands are not bad, but not as smooth on my facial skin. And it is easy for me to see them. So, if foundation makes my hands look bad, it's not going near my face! I will take care to avoid that Westmore, LOL.

It must be me but this stuff isn't for me. Now the light one works OK although I still prefer IT. I sometimes use Laura Geller. Her spackle is amazing but in the summer it's just too heavy for me.I should send back this darker color but I send a lot of things to a friend here and she tries it. If she doesn't like it she can throw it out and it doesn't cost her any money. I never use the brushes included and I give those to my teenage granddaughters.Take care, stay safe....Annabelle/Linda

I am far from a "foundation expert" but I'll tell you what works for me. I understand you don't want to use primer, but I do use Spackle misturizing. I use Josie Maron concealer crayon - love this product. I have one sunspot on my rt temple and this totally hides it, dark circles under my eyes also almost disappear, and I use it on my "marionette" lines to soften and lighten them. I use L'Oreal true match foundation over that - either the powder (daily use) or the liquid when getting dressed up to go somewhere special. I am very careful not to use too much powder because that is when you see it caking in ladies wrinkles. I apply it very lightly with a kabuki brush just to give a finished look.

@SandGirl, my suggestion is to go to Sephora where they can match your skin type and tone to their array of foundations. Plus you can give some input as to what type of look you want to achieve. Their associates don't work for any particular company so they won't try to push a certain line. One works for one person doesn't necessarily work for another. You will get so many suggestions here that your head will spin. Wishing you much luck.
