Foundation Coverage?

I am having trouble finding a foundation with coverage. I have been told that I have good skin, but do have some redness & and a few light age/sun spots. I don't feel that anything I have used is covering that well. I have used mineral foundation, liquid foundation & cream foundations. The last one I used was IT foundation. (in light medium) I use medium in Bare Minerals. In cream or liquids medium is too dark. I am wondering if I am just using the wrong color. My Mom mentioned to me that I have a tendency to wear too light a color in foundation. I would say that I am a light-medium. I guess I go to light because I hate to see a makeup line on a woman. Do any of you have any suggestions on how I could get a foundation with coverage. By the way, I don't have much luck with concealers on the age spots either.
