Have you noticed than a more than significant proportion of forum conversations are about Beauty products offered elsewhere? So do you think TPTB will notice and perhaps offer more varied, diverse products?

Yes. QVC has a strange marketing strategy in my opinion. They stay the course with what they feel sells well, but completely ignore the very real opportunity of even greater sales by offering more brands that serve a more diverse customer base. Thirty years, and they don't listen, or aren't willing to invest in their growing customer demographics?
To to be fair, it's not just beauty brands. Their introduction of any category of new brands (fashion, home products, holiday decor, etc.) is excruciatingly slow. But I never use QVC as my sole retailer anyway. Just very interesting.

@CoG you would think so but this was the first shopping channel that I ordered from and for years the one with which I spent the most. About five years ago that changed. I noticed that QVC was stagnant - not only in beauty products as @Caaareful Shopper stated above - but in all areas that they sell. I'm always amused when I read that posters want other brands to leave their current sc and go to QVC. QVC has their main brands/vendors that are on regularly, i.e. IT, the three LGs, Josie, Judith, Susan, and Wenn. If I was a vendor the last place I would relocate to would be QVC. I guess until their finances became to drop, it'll stay that way. In the meantime, they seem to be quite content with their current offering. It reminds me of what my mother used to call "Us four and no more".

In this morning's A.M. Style, during the It Cosmetics presentation that was around 20 minutes long, ending at about 9:30AM (EST), they showed many models using the different products and different shades. Of those 20 minutes, the one darker complexion model, Alicia, was in the final 5 seconds -- seconds, not minutes.
it totally changes Alicia's complexion, even though it covers her skin issues. It is not an attractive shade for her. She's not even dark skinned. Leah said Alicia is actually her complexion, and that's my complexion as well (I may be shade lighter). I have tried both Tan and Rich, and they both look like tan ash on my face.
Fine, this brand isn't for me. Contrary to Jamie's proclamation in every presentation that her CC product is for every woman.
i applaud Leah for not saying that common sales pitch, "this is the one I use."

I appreciate the fact we can talk about other lines and other retailers. The only thing we can't do is post a link.

I think it's great that we can compare notes on all products

@depglass and @Desertdi, I agree. I am really grateful for the moderators common sense approach to this. It means that nothing has to be done in the shadows and posts aren't needlessly deleted.
Thank you, QVC moderators!!!

@CoG I may be wrong but it looks like the focus of this thead has changed completely. I wasn't aware that this was a "thank you" to QVC for allowing us to discuss their competitor's products but I'll join in.
Thank you QVC.

@Tique, you're right and, @CoG, sorry for turning the gist of your thread in a different direction, because I think that his is an excellent topic for discussion.
I don't use many beauty products but I agree that QVC's perspective feels very stagnant and I'd like to see more change.
I don't read the Beauty forum that much but, over time, I have read what I thought were a number of good ideas for mixing it up including:
* periodically showcasing international brands that do well in the other international QVC stations (UK, Japan, etc.) -- Not just putting one or two into a QVC Beauty show, but having perhaps a quarterly QVC International Beauty Day -- or even one dedicated show every four months -- in which a large number of these products are specifically featured. -- Last July they did have one Asian Beauty Products show (at 4pm ET, I think) which I really enjoyed watching.
* On Evine, Mariella from Isomers and Dimitri from Skinn share a lot more scientific information about key beauty ingredients. While I haven't bought any of their products just yet (lol, I do things slowly, as @sonechko knows *s*), I really appreciate understanding more of the science behind these ingredients. -- And it makes me more likely to purchase those products.

I think one of QVC's main problems is demographics they serve these days and not attracting a younger audience, the folks for whom home shopping was an innovation 30 years ago - that equivalent generation is now all on Amazon or buying products based on YouTube presentations of customers not hosts & demonstrators. And they don't watch TV - they watch on demand Netflix/Amazon/Hulu/HBO etc, where they choose their own programming, not what a channel decides to show.
I'm surprised that QVC hasn't partnered with Ulta or Sephora or even Allure Magazine etc to come up with an hour show that showcases other lines' best products. Even partnering with some beauty bloggers in a more consistent way would seem to be a good way also instead of using models, have a range of diverse real bloggers.
