Foreo Luna - Experienced Users - Question

I thought I wanted a Foreo Luna, but spent too much time hemming and hawing about it and ended up missing the recent website sale. It's on the "askderm" website with a 25% off code that's good through today. Granted, that's not as good as the one I missed out on, but it's better than a kick in the pants. The one thing that's holding me back is that I've read you're supposed to remove makeup first and then use the device with a cleanser. My routine now is that I use a cleansing oil and it gets everything off in one step. Will the Luna work with cleansing oil? Can I continue my single step cleansing or is it really necessary to get another foaming cleanser to use after I do my oil cleanse? I like how my skin feels after the oil cleansing and really don't want to do a foaming cleanser. If the initial makeup removal and second cleanse with a foaming product is a must, then maybe I just have to realize it and admit that a Luna isn't for me.

Looking for input from current users. Thanks.

Re: Foreo Luna - Experienced Users - Question

I use the mini Foreo Luna, and I use it with the Josie Maran cleansing oil. However, I only use it in the morning, because I don't want to wash my face twice either! Even using it only once a day, there's a noticeable difference in my skin; it really gets rid of the dry, flaky skin that I'm prone to in the winter.

If you remove your makeup first, I don't see any reason why you couldn't use your cleansing oil again. The only cleansers Foreo says not to use are ones that are silicone based, clay based, and grainy cleansers, exfoliators and scrubs, that could damage the unit.

Re: Foreo Luna - Experienced Users - Question

I mush the Tatcha oil around on my face to loosen the makeup and get my eye makeup off (just like I normally do), then splash a couple of times, leaving my skin wet and still oily/milky. Then I "lather up" with the rice powder and WET the Luna, and use the Luna that way.

If I didn't use the rice powder, I'd feel okay using the Luna once I'd splashed the oil a few times. I just want to dislodge the makeup a bit before using the Foreo.

If that makes sense.Smile

EDIT -- PS: I was just thinking again this morning how much I like the Foreo and prefer it over the Clarisonic. I'd pay full price for it if I ever lost it.

EDIT AGAIN: JLF -- I just noticed you're the OP -- so you could do the same w/Dr. Young and Fleur de Lis!

Perfect! I was hoping you would chime in, MS. This is how I use my oil cleanser too...mush first on dry skin then add the water and mush some more. I was hoping I could just use the Luna after the water was added. Now I'm excited to place my order! Thanks!

I just amended my EDIT -- yeah, this would be perfect! I SO prefer it over the Clarisonic, with those products especially!

Re: Foreo Luna - Experienced Users - Question

Bummer....the askderm site won't/can't apply their discount code to the Foreo Luna due to restrictions placed by the manufacturer. Back to Square One and I have to decide if I want to pay full price.

Just have to say, it would be worth it to me. Don't know how many people feel like I do, though. If you DO decide to try it, get it at HSN where at least you can return it if it's not to your liking.

I'm not seeing amazing differences, but I wasn't expecting them as I've been using Clarisonic for years and my skin is in pretty good shape already. And I know you take good care of your skin, so not sure if there will be that much of a difference for you, either. I can't put my finger on it, but I seriously don't want to be without this little gizmo. Smile

Thanks for the HSN suggestion.

HSN has both the Luna and the Mini on EasyPays -- 2 x $99.50, and 3 x $46.33 respectively, if you're interested.

Re: Foreo Luna - Experienced Users - Question

I see that it's also sold at Sephora with free shipping, so if didn't suit you and you have a Sephora in your area, you could return it easily.
