An appointment with a board certified dermatologist for guidance on the best products to use, is far better than taking advice from strangers on a shopping channel forum.

There's nothing wrong or bad about taking advice from this beauty forum. I have found many good things here over the years and I still use some of them.

If there's something serious in nature or if it would require medical attention then I would seek professional help. I've been to a derm many times for serious stuff as well as not-so-serious stuff. Just depends on what the issues are and what I want to do about them. Not everyone wants or needs to go to a derm.

@PamfromCT   Thanks for your post. I agree that you do end up w/ skin you deserve...but that can also mean a  positive well cared for face.

I respect you and like you even though we had rocky start.

But I have to disagree with this statement...

Any lines, wrinkles, redness, texture, sagging is a sign of a life well-lived.

I've seen plenty of people with the above features you mentioned. They don't look like they had a life well lived 😳. My husband has a friend that has lines wrinkles redness texture  and sagging skin.  He is pathetic and homeless. It's his own doing. Well he was homeless until my dear brother passed away and left him his trailer. Now he's still pathetic with lines wrinkles redness and sagging skin but at least he has a roof over his head, for now.

I still don't want signs of aging. I know I'll get them but I don't have to like it 🙂.

@monicakm I enjoy your posts but have gotten the definite impression that you are obsessed with your looks. A lot of us care about taking good care of our outward selves but if I were you I would be more focused on taking care of my health. I know you have your share of ailments and serious health issues. Sorry to say, they are only going to increase with age. Yes, enjoy using your products and do what you can to maintain healthy skin but you should accept the fact that you are, thankfully, getting older.

@Shanus, I certainly hope no one interpreted my comment to mean people end up with the skin they deserve.  That does sound harsh and uncaring.  My message was that people should consider their total body care for many reasons, including how they think their face will look.

Of course, that means taking care of your face. I do hope that people did not misinterpret my message.  In fact, caring for our appearance is a sign of good mental health, in my opinion.

I did mention that I take care of my face, and I have gotten good results for myself with what I am using.  I am 78 years old, as I did

mention, and I haven’t given up on life.

Wellll, I do realize that's not the kind of person we're discussing but I've seen a lot of those "exceptions" in the world.

Re: Forehead Lines

[ Edited ]

@PamfromCT   I knew it was not a negative post. You've always been so kind and thoughtful here.

My skincare, too, has always been important to me...more so than makeup. When I was growing up, my mom had severe acne and scarring and never took good care of her face. By the time I could have helped her (professionally), she was piling on heavy foundation to cover it up and did not want to deal with it.

That's why I went in the opposite direction and as a teen  was meticulous about cleansing, not "picking" and never wore makeup. I was so afraid I would have her skin.

At 74, I have clear skin with very few lines and wrinkles. I do believe that you get what you have put into it and it's never too late to begin.
