@seedpie I am doing the same.

I have been transitioning to my natural color anyway, so I will go for a cut.

Then if she thinks we need to do any high/lowlighting we will schedule it from there.

My sister, daughter & I have appointments on the 26th one after the other.

My stylist is in one of the salons that each stylist has her own room in the building, so it is as isolated as it can be.

My daughter really wants a haircut, but she hasn't been out in amonst people since all of this started. I won't be surprised if she decides not to go.

@Dusty1   The color specialist who bleached my hair w/ heavy highlights to get it to my natural silver had a salon glassed in individual room w/ a glass sliding door. I'd ask to keep the door fully open so the two of you are not trapped in a small space w/ shared air...even w/ masks.

My salon has reopened.  I schedule several appointments at a time.  I missed my last appt. because they were closed.  My next appt. is June 3rd.  I was thinking about not going, but I really can't get my hair to look very good anymore, and the color has grown out over two inches.  I have dark roots.  I am going to go and wear a mask.  I hope everyone else will wear a mask, too.  It's a small salon.

@NickNack   Can you check with your salon ahead of time to ask if everyone wearing a mask is a requirement? I think you'll be more at ease. Will you still go if masks are not mandatory?

@Shanus   Yes, I can call and will.  I would not go if they were not mandatory.  I don't really think things will be any better this summer though and can't imagine what my hair would look like by then.

@NickNack   Your hair would probably look like other women here in NC. Durham, next city over, just extended opening another few weeks...I think passed the already set end of May date. That puts them (& maybe us, too) into the second week of June. Yeah, I know. The pits!

I am doing cut and color this afternoon but only on my bangs.  My hair is to my waist and we do not trim it every visit.  I am skipping the blow dry today only because I had to take an afternoon appt. instead of a morning.  It takes way to much time for her to blow dry my hair.  I asked ahead of time and the masks are mandatory there.

When and if ours ever open in PA I am ready. I know that masks will be required. My daughter lives in Ohio and she has an appointment on May 30. She was told to wear a mask that she is not fond of because there were some hair dye on it. Good advice. Really it is time. The grocery stores have people everywhere. I do think it also depends upon the number of cases in your area. Mine have been very low comparatively and continue to decline.

I have an appointment Monday.  I have been told that I have to wear a mask the entire time as will the stylist.  I also have to call when I arrive so she can clear me to come in and they will take my temperature.  We are not allowed to bring anyone with us, there will be no magazines or refreshments available and they don't want anyone bringing food or beverages in with them either.  It is my understanding they will not be blow drying hair.  I am getting highlights/lowlights and a cut.

I also have a nail appointment Monday.  Again, they are appointment only and you have to call when you arrive so they can clear you to come inside.  Temps will be taken and we are required to wear a mask.  After your temp is taken, you have to walk to the back to wash your hands with soap and water and only then are you allowed to pick out your polish color.  You can only have the service done that you made an appointment for.  So if you only scheduled a manicure, you can't decide to have a pedicure as well.  All stations will be 6 feet apart and there is an extra $3.00 charge for everything they have to buy from masks to wipes, etc.

I started this thread and your responses were helpful and interesting.  One of you posted that your salon will not be doing blowouts.  I never thought of that - wow that would really blow the virus around.  I will certainly not have the blowout.  Hopefully that will be a protocol but I certainly would request it if they don't mention it.  Even if they blow dry someone next to you. Not good.

@seedpie  Aren't you a sweetie pie.   That is very considerate of you.  We need more people with your attitude.  I can't get excited about getting my haircut because it is over 3 or 4 weeks away.  And, I am keeping my fingers crossed that it is not 6 or 8 weeks to wait.

@spiderw  The salons are given restrictions from the governor of their state.
