I did the same thing...I over-used the Wand and then my skin got a little raw...ouch. But I used my jojoba butter on it and the next day it was much better.  Yup, that Wand is very effective at removing skin, dead or alive.

Yes, the butter can be used right out of the jar. Basically is just like using the oil in a solid form. Since the butter is 100% pure that means it's very concentrated so you don't need to use much at all. A 1/2-pea-size is enough to do your whole face + your neck and maybe more. Just wanted to let you know that the butter is easy to apply too much at a time so just use a tiny amount and then see how that feels.

I have used many exfoliator from time to time and due to some reason I have damaged my skin many times due to harsh or careless exfoliation. 

I always recommend you scrub or exfoliate your face very gently and use the necessary equipment for this.
