Tonight I was doing a weekly peel that I've been trying out.  It is from Paula's Choice and its the Skin Perfecting 25% AHA + 2% BHA exfoliant peel.  At first I thought my face would have a fit with 25% AHA but it didn't.  I like this mask because you only leave it on for 10 minutes and it has an irridescent purple-y color to it so you can see where you are putting it.  My skin feels fabulous when done.

The peel from Paula's Choice is, I think, rather pricey and comes in a small tube so once done with it, I may look for something less expenive but that is the only con I have with it.

So I got to thinking.  How many of you use a mask/peel?  How often?  What is your favorite mask/peel?

Might be fun to see what we all use.

The mask I use isn't a peel, but whatever it is, it *pulls* impurities from my pores.  Gross I know.

I do one about once a week and it doesn't leave my skin tight, either, in fact, after washing my face I don't feel like I need moisturizer as much as I do when I use my daily cleanser.

I do an exfoliating scrub at least once a week, from my hairline down to my bra line.

I use the Suzanne Organics line for all my facial and body products.

@JudyL

I have that one, too.  I leave it on for 10 minutes as well then rinse it off.  I'm not sure that it really makes a significant difference to my skin. I'll admit I don't use it consistently.  The other masks in my arsenal are pictured here.  I have to admit, I'm not a consistent masker.  I have good intentions but we all know where those lead...LOL!

Re: Favorite Mask?

[ Edited ]

Peter Thomas Roth masks are expensive and a big waste of money, IMO - I've tried several of them when they've been on special pricing, and never again. The pumpkin (glycolic) is ok but you definitely feel it. It's quite gritty, and IMO, difficult to rinse thoroughly at the sink - it comes off easier in the shower. The rose gel (moisturizing), doesn't really feel like it does much, and the same for the cucumber gel (detox).  They both just feel like slime.  The gold one, you may feel fancy putting gold on your face but I didn't see any impressive results. The moor mud was the worst of all, it burned my skin something awful, Never again.

I've used the Skinn Divine Elixer Luminous Mask as a follow up to a glycolic mask.  It's different in the way you apply it and how it acts on the skin, but it's soothing and moisturizing, and comes off easily with a damp cloth.  It's nice.

These days, I don't really mask anymore. I don't think it's necessary.   Between the Retin-A/Tretinoin and AHA in my routine, along with an occasional use of a gentle scrub (Vasanti Brighten Up Skin Rejuvenator), i don't need any more exfoliation. My daily routine is working fine for me via my cleansers, serums, and moisturizers without adding on specialty treatments.

@JudyL   Believe it or not, I don'y use masks. I like my skincare simple, effective and fewer products the better. I do steam my face every few weeks. The active ingredients I'm already using are enough to keep my skin hydrated and pores small/clean.

I never saw the need for masks. I exfoliate my face at least once a week and moisturize every day. That works best for me. I don't need tons of skincare products, as less is better.

I love, love the Philosophy Purity Pore Extractor Mask....can't say enough good things about this product. I use it twice a week and my skin is as smooth as a baby's bottom.

I think that is why I'm a "laze masker". My daily routine is quite effective, so I try not to beat myself up so much for not masking weekly.
