@Major Shopper

Bubble gum colored lipstick WAS cool  in the 70s!  It's cool in the 2020s too Smiley Happy  I'm wearing it right now and it's called Bubble Binge (by Fenty)

Re: Favorite Decade For Makeup?

I don't know what year it was, but I think it was when Donna Mills was on Knots Landing.  I thought she had the most beautiful eyes and I tried to mimic her eye makeup.  I got pretty good at it, too!  So many different colors of shadow -- and shades I would never wear now!  My eyes used to be my best feature and I got complimented on them all the time.  I guess the Donna Mills eye makeup worked!  LOL!

@AngelPuppy1 I believe Donna Mills had an eye kit that could mimic her look. It was sold on a shopping channel. I have large mainly blue eyes so also liked her eye make up.

I wasn't alive in the 40s, but my Mother was. I just like that peaches & cream look with unaffected, sparkling eyes and emphasis on the lips.

Re: Favorite Decade For Makeup?

I loved the 70's and 80's for makeup. I think being young had a lot to do with it, though.. The older I get, the less makeup I wear the better. Back in the day, I could play with all different colors and experiment. If I wore the same looks I wore then, I think I would just look silly.

Re: Favorite Decade For Makeup?

It's hard for me to choose one! I loved playing with makeup when I was young. But my favorite decade would probably be 2000 - 2010. I was wearing Stila, BB, and Laura Mercier. Then around 2006 I "discovered" QVC, Mally, and Laura Geller!

One of the first things I ordered was a complete Mally TSV. Then I first wore it on a middle school field trip. We left around 4 a.m. and I barely had time to check my makeup until we were ready for dinner. We had been in wind and outside a good part of the day. When I did check the only thing I had to replace was my lipstick! My eye makeup was perfect!

So I discovered a lot of brands I'd never heard of. I watched Laura every chance I could, and learned a lot from her. I ordered a lot. I experimented with different looks. And I had LOTS of fun!   Smiley Happy

ETA: I answered favorite decade for ME, not for makeup looks in general. Sorry if I misunderstood the question!  Smiley Wink

1979 and lasted 14 years (according to Google.)  I knew it was an 80s program.  I liked that show too.  It was a spin off of Dallas.

@Trinity11

I played with my Colourpop Blue Moon palette yesterday.  I don't know what it is about blue eyeshadow that BLOOMS when I apply it.  By the time I'm finished, blue is all the way to my brows and I swear I didn't apply it that high LOL  It was a bit embarrassing to have to go to the drive thru pharmacy looking like Mimi from the Drew Carey show Smiley Surprised

No, you didn't misunderstand the question...I don't think LOL  Thanks for participating.  I love hearing about everyone's love for makeup and time in their lives that was the most memorable.
