Have to say that I'm really liking all there is to choose from in this decade but I think the 80s might be my favorite.  Blush lovers rejoiced Smiley Happy

What was your favorite decade for makeup (a decade you were alive and wearing makeup)?

@monicakm - I'd have to say my favorite is right now.  I'm finally figuring out what I like, what works, how I like to wear my makeup, etc.  I have always leaned more towards classics in shadows, blushes, and makeup application and thats never really gone out of style.

Started using Chanel in the late 1980's that I really liked.  Now, I use what works for me and stick with it.

@monicam In my 30's and maybe 40's I loved Germaine Monteil eye makeup. In my late teens and 20's I used some Mary Quant lip glosses and loved them.

In my 40's Cover Girl made a lipstick called Rosewine. It was a beautiful kind of rose brown and looked so good on me with my fair skin and blonde/brown hair. I wish i had bought a bunch because, of course, about 2 years later they were gone.

I don't use much makeup these days but I so enjoy everyone's posts about it, especially when pictures are included!.

I hate when they discontinue a color in cosmetics.  Clinique had a beautiful tangering shade lipstick.  I think the name was Ambrosia.  They no longer carry that color.

Re: Favorite Decade For Makeup?

I would probably say the 1980's too.  Things were more decadent, even packaging was richer.  I have always been pretty good about blending so I didn't have those blush lines that I think of from that time frame.

I remember Donna Mills had  a makeup video (probably the 80's) where she smashed baby powder on her face over her foundation.  Foundations improved a lot in the 1990's, when I started using Teint Idol it was basically self setting.

Products just keep evolving and improving, wish we could have had the innovations of today in products back then.

Re: Favorite Decade For Makeup?

I agree the 80's had the best makeup looks. I think I still have a photo from Vogue that I saved which I used to get my look. The model is still more beautiful than any look being shown today. She is timeless.

Anything that happened during the Disco Era was the best. That was the most wonderful time in my life. For those too young to know what I mean, watch Saturday Night Fever. Look at the hair, the makeup, the clothing, and how pulled together everyone was. (Ignore the plot; it is a downer.)

For me, it was about 15 years ago when Q had such wonderful brands and demostrations from Bare Minerals, Laura Geller, and Mally.

I loved the "Twiggy Decade". I had her pixie, but with dark hair, black liner top and bottom and very mascared lashes. I had my white patent boots and mini skirts, too.

For me it was the '70s. So glamorous...Cher, Farrah, Donna Summer, Diana Ross just to name a few.  It paved the way for the '80s.
