Re: Faux Tanner and Body Lotion

Shanus--I don't use anything on my self most times and never on my face, just when I need a little color if I wear shorter pants to cover the blue veins. I use a bronzer powder on my face and then really, I don't care what color my skin is. I use sun block everywhere everyday.  Tanning or faux tanning is not a big deal to me. And no matter how I would apply the faux smelly stuff, there would be that awful odor anyway.  Wasted time and $$ for me.

Re: Faux Tanner and Body Lotion

As someone else already said, you MUST exfoliate your skin prior to applying any tanning product or it will come out uneven on your skin.

Because my skin is also dry and the faux tanner has a tendency to be on the dry side as well, I mix together the faux tanner (Banana Boat) and Jergen's Natural Glow in fair medium together and then apply to the skin.  It takes some time and it is a process, but the results are lovely.

Good luck.

All the self tanners I have ever used, including the Jergens, smell like dirty feet on me after a few hours. So I use a bronzer like Sally Hansens stuff for legs and I mix that with lotion first. Seem to go on much easier and not look muddy on the knees or ankles.

That Jergens is one of the worst smelling products I have ever used.  The Target store brand doesn't have that ghastly smell.

I use that Sally Hansen product as well but I only use it if I'm going to be inside.  Unfortunately, if I start to sweat it does wear off.  I found that out when I had it on when we were on our boat and it came off all over our white seats!
