Ok, I have been dying to try fake eyelashes, so I got a groupon, made my appointment (had to wait over 3 wks to get in) looked so forward to the "new me" I was going to be. I arrive at my appointment, lay on the table, the tech says, "I have to TAPE DOWN YOUR BOTTOM LASHES" . WHAAAT???? It took over ten minutes for me to lay still enough for her to TAPE my lashes down!! Once she finally got them done, I felt like I had fingers poking my eyes out, and I knew I was going to have to lay there for 90 minutes and then come back in 2 wks and do it again!!
I nicely told her that I could not do this, would she please remove the tape and I apologized profusely. She agreed to let me give the groupon to someone else (she probably was more happy than I to have me leave!!)
My point is, how does anyone stand this?? I cannot imagine doing this every two weeks!!

Were you getting lash extensions? I don’t think I could handle that either.

Funny you post this because I have been thinking about trying the lash extensions. There are very reputable salons in my area doing Groupons for it and the reviews are very good.
A very good friend of mine had them done but she didn't stick with them. She said they started to bother her before the time was up for her to do it again and she pulled them off and never went back.
I follow a woman in Instagram name Courtney Kerr (she's actually been on Beauty IQ presenting items) and she had it done once and was allergic and OMG you should have seen her eyes. Now she does the glue on falsies. That is what really scared me.

The thing is, your eyelashes are always growing, falling out, and regrowing again......just like your hair. I know a rather vain friend who had them done (she really didn't need them), and spent the next week or so pulling them off. She hated them. I use Rapidlash, which makes mine grow quite long, but they are still rather light. I just curl them and use a good mascara. That works fine for me.

Every comment so far has made me cringe. Why do people do such crazy things just for looks?

I watch a girl on YouTube that tried them and had an allergic reaction and it was terrible! I live in a very rural area and I don’t think there is anyone close enough for me. They are very beautiful on a lot of women I’ve seen on YouTube who have them.

IMO getting eyelash extensions is not a “crazy” thing to do if they work out and want them. I don’t think anyone who gets them the 1st time knows whether or not they’ll have an allergic reaction to the glue used. I follow LisaJ Makeup and she has them and has for a while. She never has to use mascara and hers are beautiful. She is a typical mom of 2 little girls and a wife. I also think it’s personal preference and to her it’s convenient. Different strokes for different folks.

i WAS getting extensions yesterday, yes. I wanted just a short, natural look. We agreed on the look before she started working on me. I have never had much in the way of lashes, even with mascara. I just tried it. Will not try it again!!!

I wanted to try this too, but worried about how it would feel. I just don't trust other people around my eyes. I also hate lash glue and am prone to allergic reactions, so I decided to try the magnetic stick-on lashes. There is a learning curve to applying them, but I like them a lot.
