My skin is frustrating me too. I have always had oily skin prone to breakouts but after menopause my skin has changed so that my skin is a lot more normal but I get flaking skin in the T zone as the skin doesn't exfoliate well - especially in the area around my nose, forehead, and sometimes the lower chin area. I dermaplane and use a pumice brick to exfoliate the dead skin but it's a never ending task that I have to do more than once a week. I think maybe I need to add an oil cleanse to get that dead flaky skin off my face.

@TY,

Not to hijack the thread but the flaking skin on your T-zone could be a mild case of seborrheic dermatitus.  It's treated with dandruff shampoo.    Don't exfoliate/scrub too often (good grief, a pumice brick on your face?!) and treat your skin like it's the finest delicate silk until the flaking has resolved.

An estimated 700,000 people around the world, 400,000 of them children, have died so far due to the discontinuation of the USAID program.

I love oils. But it seems many of them burn my eyes. I don't know why.

@barbie2014 Don't put your oils right under your eyes but no further than the orbital bone, as oil travel up there on its own but not directly under the eye lid area. You shouldn't have a problem doing it that way. I am assuming that is the problem or the type of oils you are using. I have no problems with Rosehip or Argan but I did before I saw a video showing the correct way of applying.

You might try some of the Ordinary skincare products.  They are inexpensive and have been getting good reviews.  Go on their website or Youtube to hear what products work the best with different skin types.  If they don't work for you, you are not out much money.

@River Song

I will give the dandruff shampoo a try on my face to see if that helps.

@suzyQ3

I'm not sure since I had the flaking problem before I started the dermaplaning and pumice brick but it seems to have not gotten rid of the flaking, just made it constant.
