Facial Essence - Do you use it? Recommendations?

I never used a Facial Essence until I started to use Skinn Cosmetics.  I LOVE the Skinn Non-Negotiables products.

I agree with Dimitri that Essence is a game changer.  The active ingredients are a bonus & it also helps to provide slip for serums so you don't need to use as much product.

I will need to reorder Essence soon, most likely a reorder for Skinn Essence. But I'm curious about recommendations for other options.

This cleansing trio is priced at $45, free shipping at H. The standalone Essence (4oz) is priced at $32, sometimes $28

I'd love suggestions on Essences.  I use the Tatcha one because it came in TSVs I ordered.  I don't want to spend the money for a single purchase of it...for me the TSVs were bargains.  I was Googling for a dupe, but have not found any.

I use the Skinn one, as well as Tatcha and I used to use one called raw sauce made by May Coop. They are all good. I think it's a good step to keep your skin a little plumped up.

I have the one from Skinn, not used it yet, I was planning on using it in lieu of a toner.

I am not a fan of the Skinn Softening Essence.  It has a slippery feeling to it.  I prefer the kind of essence that feels like plain water.  I used to use the one by Tony Moly, but one day the brand just up and disappeared.  Right now I am using and essence by Secret Key (Amazon) but am open to trying other Korean options.  I also like Alteya Organic Bulgarian Rose Water spray for a toner type option.  It’s a true distilled rose water, not something with rose scent added to it.  I was getting mine in a dual pack from the Costco website but it’s no longer on there so I’ll have to go to Amazon when I need to repurchase, if Costco doesn’t bring it back.  I don’t use both products together, One is in the AM and the other is in the PM.

@Misplaced Parisian  - I've read only positives about Tatcha products - seems like the primary complaint is high cost. I've been tempted to try the brand but haven't yet

i know there are some good Korean beauty brands that offer Essence. Curious to know about any good drug store options

@Chi-town girl  Tatcha has truly saved my sensitive skin.  Nothing burns, causes allergic reactions, etc.  I've always purchased the TSV because they've been a bargain for me.  I'm hoping Q will have one soon, time will tell.

@Grouchomarx  - I'm not familiar with May Coop- will check it out

i don't need any cleansers but if I reorder the Skinn Essence, I will order the trio kit for the overall value  since I also use Skinn cleansers

@Misplaced Parisian - I am interested to try the Tatcha cleansing system. Hoping there is a good TSV soon!

@JeanLouiseFinch  -- TY   You are a great Beauty resource! I have and love the Trader Joes Rose spray  - think it is more like a toner rather than essence. I keep it in the refrigerator for a nice spritz after workout and for beach bag.

There is a difference between toner and essence. Per my understanding they are for different purposes, true? Also per my understanding toners are a 'waste' of $ something that has been sold as a 2nd step after cleansing to remove any residue remaining after cleansing.

A good essence contains pure actives
