Re: FIRED MY FIRST EVER BRIDAL CLIENT

I thought all brides knew they shouldn't be making drastic changes to their appearance for their wedding.

Re: FIRED MY FIRST EVER BRIDAL CLIENT

Sorry but being a make-up artist you are hired to do what the bride wants. She's paying you. Even if she wanted to look like Bozo the clown, you were hired to please her. I feel you should have done exactly what she wanted, it was HER wedding you know.

@Shanus  You absolutely did the right thing.  No matter who has encouraged her to have a dramatic look for her makeup, she not only will regret that, but you would end up getting the blame.  You have worked too hard for your reputation.  I always respect people who have the integrity to do the right thing and you did it.

I am guessing that no matter what you would have done, she would not have been happy!

Re: FIRED MY FIRST EVER BRIDAL CLIENT

Not makeup related but wedding related.

My niece went back to the seamstress 3 times with the dress telling her to make it tighter and tighter and tighter.  The third time the seamstress told her no, it was tight enough and if she made it any tighter she wasn't going to be able to breath.

It seems like modern brides have lost their senses.

@Shanus , did you show this woman a portfolio of your work before your trial session? I would think looking through it, the bride to be would realize what she was asking was out of your comfort zone. Time saved for both of you...

@Trinity11   She was recommended by a friend...a bride I did last summer. She never asked to see a portfolio.

Re: FIRED MY FIRST EVER BRIDAL CLIENT

I think she should have put herself in your capable hands and once she saw the results, then perhaps she could have asked for some tweaking and together the two of you could have made it work.
