FEBRUARY BEAUTY/SKINCARE QUESTIONS FOR @Shanus?

We're getting ready to switch over to warmer weather skincare (maybe) and maybe lighter or brighter or softer makeup for spring. I know I do.

Any questions I can answer?

WHY can't I get blush across the bridge of the nose to look right?  Is it just "different" or am I doing it wrong?  I mean, how hard can it be?  Do you ever apply blush across the nose?

@monicakm  Hi..  I've never put blush across the bridge of my nose.  I've swept it across my lids and chin,  but never the nose.  I'm curious to see Shanus' response.

@monicakm   Sometimes, depending on coloring, that place across the nose looks better w/ bronzer than blush. If you have any redness in your skin, blush across the nose will accentuate that...bronzer which is warmer and less red will give that same sun-kissed look w/o a reddish nose.

Also the shape of the face and nose makes a difference. Just because it's a "look", doesn't mean it's a good one for you. I have a short nose and a smaller round face. This doesn't leave much real estate for color products. I need to be strategic where blush and bronzer are placed or my entire face has too much color.

@Shanus  First of all, thank you for inviting questions from us. I'm vowing to do better with my skin this summer and would love your input for sunscreen. I've been using Neutrogena but I feel like it washes off as soon I jump in the pool and sweats off and burns my eyes. I'm in the pool daily and will be even more so this season with my two year old GGS plus we are under Texas sun. Also, what are your thoughts on running it through my hair?

Thank you.  I don't have any redness and I'd say my face is average size.

And yes, just because it's a "thing" doesn't mean it should be my thing Smiley Wink  I guess I'll just drop the Rudolph look but I'll never give up a little shimmer on the end of my nose.

Puzzlement to me:  People work so hard to eliminate redness in their skin, then wear blush.  Woman Frustrated

Don't expect an answer--just thought I'd toss that out. . .

@Spacrazy   I love answering questions. SPF: I've found that ones marked "for babies" stay on well when swimming, etc. I think they assume catching the child to put it all over a second time would be difficult. Also.  many spfs are listed waterproof, but still need to be applied from time toi time.

Hair: Conditioner spread and combed through the hair keeps some water damage away, but a swim cap is best.

Re: FEBRUARY BEAUTY/SKINCARE QUESTIONS FOR @Shanus?

@Shanus  Thanks for your reply and I love your advice ! Using the same sunscreen as my GGS will work out great for us - one less thing to buy. Again, I hadn’t thought about a swim cap in 50 years LOL. Really had no idea they still made them so I will start searching.

Your help means so much and I sincerely appreciate your time and talent.

Re: FEBRUARY BEAUTY/SKINCARE QUESTIONS FOR @Shanus?

@Shanus I enjoy reading your posts. You know alot more than I do. And would like your opinion.

Not sure if you had ever heard of Ethocyn. I have used it for many years as my moisturizer. In fact it is the only moisturizer I have used winter, summer, fall and spring.

About 2 years ago I received notification that it was no longer being made.

I am looking for a similar product. I have bought many other products but I always went back to Ethocyn. Now my stock pile is running low and I have to make a change.

Any suggestions?
