Re: FAVORITE AND NOT SO FAVORITE BEAUTY INDULGENCES

My only indulgence (but I really consider it a necessity) is a cut/style/full color every 4 weeks (roots and then foiled highlights) along with a keratin treatment every other month.  Like someone else posted, I don't have the coloring to carry off gray hair, and it would certainly age me a good 10 years.  I do my own pedicures and brow coloring.  I keep my fingernails short and unpainted.

Keeping up my manicures and Pedies since I can't do it any longer (neuro issue, left hand from a fall years ago).

I'll continue my hair color and mainantence.

Re: FAVORITE AND NOT SO FAVORITE BEAUTY INDULGENCES

I go with a couple daughters every month for mani/pedi. I like seeing my nails all neat and pretty. Color always on toes. Just makes me feel good. With short, pixie hair, I only have a cut every five or six weeks. It is grey/black, which I don't like. So I use Punky temporary hair color every couple of weeks. Shampoo in, fades slowly. I prefer navy blue or teal or turquoise since those are the primary colors I wear. I get a compliment (at least one) every time I'm out and about. Funny -- they come primarily from young people who say "cool!" or something similar. Facials at a local esthetician when I can afford them.

@Shanus   I've never had a professional facial...but I plan on changing that this year!  With age, I've noticed my pore size has really become more noticeable, especially on my nose-blackheads, yuck!
@CANDLEQUEEN   For Christmas my mom bought me a really nice at home waxing kit...something else I need to work harder on!  Just wondering if frequent facial waxing should cause the whiskers & sideburns to grow back much slower than using a device like the Contour or even Nair?

@cheriere Hi! I think frequent waxing will NOT cause the hair to grow back faster, but slower.... What I am using right now does not remove the hair from the root, but waxing does, and I think that may be why it grows back slower...I am using Panasonic which is very similar to Contour as it basicalle just shaves it away, thus for me having darker hair need to use it daily! It is so annoying!!! Have you used your Home Waxing Kit yet?? How do you like it?

@CANDLEQUEEN   No, I haven't worked up the nerve to use it yet, but will probably do so this weekend.  I have a drs appointment out of town Tuesday & was hoping to at least try it out a few days before I go.  I think I'm gonna start small and just do the mustache section and chin until I'm sure I've the hang of it.  I'd sure hate to get one side of my face done before knowing how my skins gonna react first.  I'd thought about using argan oil afterwards.

@cheriere Definitely a good idea!!! I always used to use an oil after getting waxed. It calmed my skin down a bit...

I get a lash lift every 7 weeks. My lashes grow downward. Even with curling, humidity brings them down again. It makes my lashes look longer and wakes up my eyes.
Everything is so dang expensive these days, that I've been coloring my roots and doing my own pedicures and gel nails.

Gave up being blonde a couple years ago and haven't looked back. Never had a facial or massage and don't plan too. I paint my own nails had the long fake nails years ago and that phase came and went. Geez now that I'm thinking about this I don't really have any, HA!

@Thats Me

I've been removing facial hair for decades. Probably close to 30 years. I just did it tonight using tweezers to pluck out those stupid chin whiskers and a razor to remove peach fuzz. Makeup looks so so much better when it's not grabbing on to hair. Tonight I used a razor but I also use a couple of other tools just whatever I'm in the mood for or is Handy.

Fun topic @Shanus

My favorite Indulgence would be the gel polish/ pedicure that I've been doing for 15 months. I'm going to the city tomorrow for an echocardiogram and bringing along  my gel polish to hopefully stop by a salon for a pedicure.
