Eyeliner Help Needed

In my younger years I use to wear liquid eyeliner all the time..never had a problem with it and it stayed on all day. Now in my younger plus years for the life of me I cannot find an eyeliner that will so called "glide" on. I really do not like the look of liquid eyeliner on me now that my lids have aged. I have a couple of eyeliners that go on but after several hundred times of applying. Should I be applying something like a lid primer first, would that help? I just want something that will go on easy and last longer than 20 minutes. I usually put my eyeshadow on first. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated as I'm about ready to give up. I've got Smashbox liners, Laura Geller's waterproof eyeliners, BE, Mally's, Avon, Physician's Formula, tarte that I've already with no success.
