@Shanus TY!  Oops, sorry.  That's what I get for not going back and checking the post for the correct acronym.  So...will the blond work for brows that are a medium brown?  I usually get mine dyed by my stylist, but yesterday, she and I both forgot until I was almost done.  Ugh.  I've got to do something before I see her again in 4 weeks.  lol

I now prefer 'Benefit Gimme Brows' as oppose to using a pencil on my scarce brows which looked too harsh on me.  Gimme Brows is a gel and has a small brush to lightly go over your brows.  You can purchase a duo pack on HSN for $39.00 + free S/H,  I have dark brown hair and use #5-Deep.

I dont use too many Elf products but I do like their brow kit, a tinted wax that brushes on first, then a powder that matches it to go over it.

@Ainhisg   I'm pretty sure yes. It's a dark taupe.

Since I was a teenager, all I did was comb my eyebrows. They had a nice natural arch and not too thick or thin.  By 50, I was losing the tails and started using a pencil to fill in.

Now, alopecia has diminished my brows to just a few hairs.

So, I use ybf universal taupe pencil from HSN. It can be used for light or dark brows depending on how much pressure is applied.

I fill my brow shape with individual hair strokes. Then, to soften the look, I use IT Brow Power powder with the small IT slanted brush, then brush with spoolie end of brush. As Shanus mentioned, I apply pencil and powder lightly at beginning of brow then darker towards the tails for a more natural look.

Only my dermatologist knows that I basically have no natural eyebrows.

One of the most annoying things about getting older is how much longer it takes to do makeup, especially brows. Back in the day, it only took less than 10 minutes to slap some makeup

on and be out the door.Smiley Sad

I once read that Elizabeth Taylor's makeup artist took 1 hour to pencil in each hair for her perfect brows.

I am not wild about the mascara type brow products because I find they leave little blobs on the hairs just like mascara does on eyelashes.  Also, the brush finds every hair, so if you have any strays or stubby regrowth beneath your eyebrow, the wand will catch these hairs too, so it can be a pain.

I am using a drugstore brow pencil with a spoolie on the end, I think it is by Maybelline.  It is a neutral taupe color, not too dark, not too light.  It draws fine strokes of color, but it is not the pricier finer one offered.  I really dislike the look of stenciled on eyebrows.  Looks bizarre to me and was really popular for awhile, not sure if it still is.

My brows have always been full and dark and even into my 70s they are the same.  When its necessary to trim them I slather on Vaseline, comb them straight up and trim with small scissors.   I use YBF or similar (Elf) just to cover the occasional gray and fill in tails with a light touch.

@Katcat1 - Brows are my problem area and always have been! When I was 3 I fell, and glass went into my upper lid. My one brow never grew as long as the other one and I still have a slight scar.

The color is a problem too. My brows and lashes have always been darker than my blonde hair, but taupe shades don't look good on me.

I found a product I like by Kristopher Buckle. It has two shades and it stays on me. I also do lighter shade for first part of brow, darker one for rest. QVC doesn't carry his products any more, but A does. I have to extend the line, and now my other eye is "catching up" as far as the disappearing tail goes!

I use Anastasia tinted brow gel over that. I went into Sephora to ask a question when the Anastasia team was there. She used the brow gel in Brunette. I thought it would be way too dark, but it works! In a pinch if I'm in a hurry I use IT or Anastasia pencil!   Smiley Happy

I have used Bare Minerals brow powder with a clear gel on top for years.  It looks very natural on me.  If I'm in a hurry, I use the Doll 10 brow gel in taupe.  Works well for me.  I have never found a brow pencil that works as well for me.

@Katcat1 I love & use Anastasia Brow Wiz Pencil. I first brush them thru with the spoolie. Its a thin retractable pencil, so its is easy to make hair like strokes to make the brows look natural. I then use her duo powder under the edges for definition & use the light shade from the beginning of the brow & mix that with the deeper shade for the tails. Her eyebrow brush is the best I have used & looks quite natural. Sometimes I use her eye gel (mascara type wand) to comb thru in a upward motion. Yes, as we age our brows do thin out. Its best to do the brows in my opinion before applying face cream etc.
