I coordinate my eyeshadow with my clothes. I have a neutral shade palette, rose palette and orange, which is actually shades of melon. Also a couple of shadow sticks.

Eye primer is a must to set the shadows. It's a personal choice which primer you prefer.

Thanks for the support and kind words @beach-mom .

For @Luvsmyfam : Yes, eye shadow is still in, only if you enjoy wearing it and willing to add an extra step to your routine. Many times I use a cream shadow stick in a light neutral shade which is quick and one and done. Some shadow primers come in light or skin tone shades that will give you brightness on the lids and cover any redness or veining...that may br enough for you.

On myself, I rarely use more than 2 shades at a time...mostly neutrals, sometimes pale grey or a lavendar that I mute with a pale taupe in the palette. I don't like a "color" on my eyes...muting it gives just a hint of the shade.

Definitely if your eyes reacted to the shadows and they were old, tossing them was the right thing to do. There are many drugstore palettes with gorgeous color stories to experiment with and enjoy. Have fun!!!

The main reason I wear makeup is to wear eyeshadow.  I have good enough skin that I could go au naturale, but wearing eye makeup without foundation, to me, looks weird.  I'm only talking about how it looks to me on me.  Others I'm sure can get away with that look.  Same for lipstick.

@Icegoddess

Unless it's just a skin-like color, I don't feel right in e/s with no foundation either.  Yesterday when I went to mom and dad's I just did lashes and a more muted lip tint.  Little did I know I'd be in WM for TWO hours helping mom buy a new phone.  Complexion is fine with no foundation or skin tint but I'm just used to a more refined look when I'm out and about.  I definitely could have looked better.

As far as I know, ladies are wearing eye shadow if they wear makeup.

You might want to toss the old and try Clinique.  They're good for sensitivity.

So great to see you on here!  Don't be a stranger!!!
