Do you apply this to the eye area after you use your day/night cream or just use the eye cream alone in the under eye area?  TIA.  S

@Lilysmom1   Most eye creams are meant to use alone under, and some all over, the eye area.  You can really do both but sometimes when you apply several creams on top of each other there could be a shredding or flaking because they don't mix.   You can experiment and see what works for you.   If you live in a cold climate,  you may need a heavier cream in the winter and apply two.

If you use two,  I would put the eye cream on first.

@Lilysmom1

Probably no wrong way.

I apply last because anything I use before, I also put directly under my eyes (as well as my neck area). This way, I get a little extra support at my eye area.

Sometimes, like now, when it is cold outside, before walking, I'll dab something for even more support.

If you are treating dark circles, and your eye cream is meant for that, then I would apply first.

I use eye cream daily.  I have sensitive eyes so I have to be cautious what I use.

I like 100% Pure eye cream and I also alternate with Beekman 1802 eye cream.

I use moisturizier on the rest of my face but stay clear of the eye area.  I am a natural kind of person, I don't hardly wear make up and never understood "layers" of  stuff on the face.  I believe less is more, JMO.

I deal with my face that day.

I always use eye cream around my eyes, because my eye area is always the least hydrated place on my face.

In the winter I have been applying my regular moisturizer up near my eye & then applying my eye cream over that.

So use what works best for you. Some products do not work well together & some are no problem. You have to pay attention. It is a lot of work!

@Lilysmom1 I put everything on my face first then eye cream then moisturizer.  Don't think there is any right or wrong way though.

I never apply my all over face moisturizer to my under eye area.  I am using a thick face cream right now because my skin is dry.  I think it would end up causing milia.

Out of habit I usually apply my eye cream right after my toner or AHA liquid.  Then I apply moisturizer to the rest of my face, avoiding my eye area.  If I use my face moisturizer first, I avoid my eye area and then go in with eye cream.

@Lipstickdiva @JudyL @Dusty1 @LindaSal @Harpa , thanks for your replies.  I am using eye cream directly on the under eye area and I think I will continue to do that.  The comment about the eye cream not mixing well with the moisturizer applies to me I think.  Thanks for your comments.  Much appreciated!  S aka Lilysmom

@Lilysmom1    If I use eye cream, I apply that first and then my regular moisturizer on the rest of my face.  I keep them separate but I don't think it matters if you use both in the eye area.

Yes, it does matter if your facial moisturizer is used under your eyes. It's most likely more heavy and richer than your eye cream. The under area is fragile and thin. The pores can easily become clogged and weighed down with a too heavy moisturizer.

Mineral oils, lanolin, etc. sometimes found in rich face products can cause millia....little white or yellow bumps that have to removed by a dermatologist. It's best to avoid putting this moisturizer under the eyes.

I recommend putting on your facial creams avoiding the eye area and then putting on your eye cream or reverse the application. Either way, keep the heavier products away from under the eyes. Puffiness and other issues can also be increased from a heavy cream.
