What eye shape do you have? Eye shape determines placement of shadow which can be easy or challenging.
I am deep set eyes. I always wanted the big eyelid. Teachers said I reminded them of a doe which was kind.

I have been told countless times I have bedrooms eyes. Which actually means I have hooded eyes and barely any visible eyelid. Which is why my effort to wear eyeshadow is never as fabulous as I hope it will be.
No, below is not me...but shape and color of eye is very similar to my eyes.

I have small round eyes which makes it difficult to do a cat eye shape although I try. They're also somewhat deep-set I think. I was told once here that they are hooded, but that is not the case unless young people have hooded eye since they've always been that way.
Since they are round, I don't line beneath my lower lashes, only above. Lining beneath them would accentuate their roundness and it also tends to give me the raccoon eye look.

@ECBG Good morning and sorry late to your post. My eye shape is a rounded almond shape. The upper lid has become a bit hooded at the outr lid over the years. I can adjust the look with shadow in a shade almost my skintone placed above the crease and tilted upwards towards the end of my eye. I also extend that shadow more outwards and up to the end of my brow.
I learned how to "adjust" my brow by making sure the tail goes up instead of down or straight.
BTW, how are you feling?

I have rounded almond blue/grey/ green eyes. Shadow goes on well with an average lid. When my sinuses are bad then my eyes droop😣

Nice to "see" you!
Much better, thanks. Last 2 days barely any light pain. Still on the 80mg ibuprofen, and still dealing with a little weakness from the medical boot leg.
We went to the grocery store yesterday after voting and I was ok leaning on the half cart.
They want me back at work, but it's going to take a little more time. The prednisone 10 mg just ended 3 days ago.
Spring fever is driving me crazy.
How are you and Molly?

I have almond shaped hazel colored eyes. Both things are nuts......I guess that is only fitting. LOL. 👁

This pictured eyelid is not a hooded lid. A hooded lid is where the there is no crease and the lid comes down to the lash line. If you scroll further down on the page you will see a picture of a hooded lid, amongst others. A hooded lid is kinda puffy.
I had hooded lids all my life, until I got old. Now I don't. But, hooded lids do limit the applications of eyeshadow and the shadow has a tendency to melt under the hood.
To counter that, I used Clinique's Touch Base under my eyeshadow. The eyeshadow stayed in place and didn't melt. I still do use it, because after 8, 10, 12 hours the eyeshadow is still in place. I think it is a great product.
