EL double wear is my favorite foundation...great color match and stays put all day. I have tried the FUTURIST by Estée Lauder and don't love it. While I love the double wear, I think I need more moisture to the foundation...as I age.
Would there be something I should add to the routine before I add the foundation? I already use a serum and a moisturizer, but would love a bit more of a hydrated look.
I am open to another foundation if I would get the same look..all day long.
I am not a cosmetic junkie like some here...there have been many brands mentioned that I have never heard of...any recommendations would be nice...I prefer not to order online, as I need a color match in store.
thanks.

@Mom2Dogs - Since the EL DW is your favorite foundtion, I would hesitate to make a change only because once one finds a favorite foundation, it's hard to find a replacement. At least I think it is. Anyway, what about adding a drop and I do mean 1 drop of facial oil to your foundation. Put the foundation on the back of your hand, add the oil and mix, then apply. Or you could try adding the oil to your moisturizer and seeing if that helps. You didn't say whether or not you use a primer so I'm assuming you don't but you may want to Google, "hydrating face primers" and try one of those under the foundation.

@JudyL I will try the oil like you mentioned and I do use a primer but never thought to look for a hydrating primer, did not even know that was a thing...thanks!!

@Mom2Dogs - If you want to try an oil first, The Ordinary has a Rosehip oil for a little over $10 that might work. Also, Laura Geller has a hydrating Spackle primer and she is always having sales on her website so you might be able to get it there on a good sale. Always easier to try something new if you get it on sale....LOL

I would try to stick with this foundation, especially since you like the color match. I like the idea of adding a dot of oil. If this does not work out maybe you could try a richer moisturizer. It is possible your skin is changing. Or stay with your moisturizer and add a hydrating primer. Or another alternative might be use whatever you now use and use a hydrating mist over your foundation as your last step.

@Mom2Dogs i am extremely dry and love this foundation due to a perfect color match. I add one drop of the Trish McEvoy Beauty Booster oil to my foundation, mix it on my flat plate and then apply it with my foundation brush; PERFECTION. Her oil plays well with every brand of foundation and moisturizer I've tried when I need extra hydration. It's an amazing product with MANY uses. ![]()

I had to stop wearing this foundation in my 50s when my complexion went from norm-oily to DRY. I've moved on to other foundations but if you want to stay with the EL foundation, there are many hydrating products you could use, plus a primer if you're not already using one. I recently started adding this.
It's $17 on Amz.
Or this, I use multiple hydrating products at once.
$19 on Amz.

This one is also very hydrating. $34 on Sephora
