I read the reviews and it sounds like it hurts when using over the upper lip. That's where I would need it most. I am just going to stick with my old emjoi stick like razor, doesn't hurt and only need it about once a week. Works good on peach fuzz also.

What is the pain factor when using this on the face? The information about the hair coming in finer is good, but does the Emjoi eliminate fine hair easily?

Some areas of the face are more sensitive than others- the upper lip for me. I had laser treatment years ago and the dr said to put a cotton ball on your gum by your inner lip - that cushions the nerves and it's a bit better.

Great tip! Thanks!

I have a few questions for those of you that have it.

Does the hair grow back darker?

How long does the hair have to be to use it?

Does it cause ingrown hairs?

TIA!

no the hair does not grow back darker and I have never experienced an ingrown hair. it works on peach fuzz so apparently your hair does not need to be very long.

Thanks Andreatoo! I think I am going to give it a try. I had an older model. I only used it on my bikini area and I remember the hair had to have some length or it would not grab it. I like that this one can be used on peach fuzz on the face too.

my pleasure :-) I've tried a few hair removal method for the face i.e waxing even that stupid useless no no and I find epilating the most convenient and its thorough

Haha! I actually LIKE my No! No! It removes the hair and I don't mind doing it two or three times a week because it's so easy and no down time. But I was interested in this after Lisa kept telling ME -- NO HAIR! It would be good to feel absolutely no stubble (even though you can't see it) as I do with the No! No! I ordered the Emjoi and am looking forward to it. :-) Another gadget for my collection.

It doesn't hurt me no matter where I use it. I really don't feel it much at all. The longer you use it the less you notice anything at all.

I suspect it might have more of a pinch feeling (I just can't call it pain) if you let the hair get long between uses.

But, if what you have is working for you I can't see spending money on this. if it ain't broke, don't fix it. lol..

Thanks to everyone! It just didn't make sense to me if you could use it on your upper lip, what the difference would be on the rest of the face.

I haven't epilated since the EpiLady came out in the 90's. It didn't seem to get all the hairs (I was using it on my legs) and my hair from my head kept getting caught in it and I'd have to cut it out. I would have put up with it if it had done a better job of getting all the hair. The pain didn't bother me -- it's what I expected. We're yanking our hairs out by the roots, for pete's sake.

Looking forward to trying this to see if it works for me. Your responses have been so helpful -- and encouraging!

I would like to use the Emjoi for my underarms and legs, rather than use a razor. I don't have any hair on my lip, but I do have a few hairs on my chin. Unfortunately, four of those hairs are on a mole. I'm just concerned about removing those hairs with the Emjoi. Currently, I wait a bit, then use my Forever Free (which just cuts the hairs). Do any of you use the Emjoi over a mole on your face?

I bought the nono with an extended trial around the holidays. Used it nearly daily, smelled burning hair and yet hair was still there! I eventually gave up and sent it back

the Emjoi is basically mechanized tweezers with all that that implies. If you're shaving the mole then you can certainly tweeze the mole but I would ask your doctor before doing either

I would think only the bearded lady in the circus might use this for the face-
