Hi......

I just received the Emjoi EpiSlim.

I tried it on my upper lip and when I did, I got a bad burn !!!

(Like a rug burn near the corners of my mouth and a small area

By my nose....those three spots are also oozing a little and are red)

I noticed in the instructions ....don't press down.

I don't think I did but maybe I pressed too hard or went over those

areas too much????

I did go over the areas as the unit was not pulling out the hair.

Could this unit be defective ???

I tried calling Emjoi but they were already closed.

Can anyone help????

Thanks a bunch!!!!

@Kat 13 If those areas are oozing, I think you pressed down too hard and actually removed some skin.  You don't need to really press these things at all, just let it glide over the surface and catch the hairs.  If you have some Neosporin or any kind of antibiotic ointment, dab a little on the spots.

I doubt the thing is defective. I think maybe you were just pressing down too hard. After your skin gets back to normal, try using it again on very clean and dry skin. Make sure your skin is pulled tight when you are using it.

@Kat 13  I have one of those things which I've junked.  I never got a "razor burn" but they hurt like heck.  After a year it didn't get any better so I got a better razor.  Do you have some antiseptic ointment you could put on the area?

@Kat 13 you might want to return it and get the corded one.  You won't have to go over an area so many times to get the hair.

Ouch!!   I almost ordered an EpiSlim a couple weeks ago.  Now I'm very happy I didn't.

I hope your skin heals in a hurry.
