I hope they'll reply.  There was nothing mentioned about links to beauty related YT videos or products...

Hello, first let me say I am over the moon excited that QVC has decided to keep the boards open Smiley Happy  Thanks!
I read the new guidelines but it said nothing about links to beauty related products or beauty related YT videos.
Please advise.  Are they allowed or not allowed?
Thanks!

Re: Email to QVC Social Team

I don't think YouTube video links are allowed because they contain advertisements.

@monicakm,  I'll be interested in what you find out...  for quite some time now I've seen YouTube links removed when they're acting as retail storefronts (listing retail site links to purchase the goods they  promote).
I saw mention of it months ago in a "Home" subforum thread as a reason for removing the YouTube link, so I've been reluctant to take the risk of posting them since then.

They've prohibited direct links to "external retail sites" for years, but it never was added to the Standards for Participation or Guidelines.

I'm not aware of any new guidelines -- where did you find those?

Hope everyone is having a peaceful and pleasant evening!😊

That's the impression I got, @CoffeeNut.  So many of them are considered commercial sites these days.😊

@CoffeeNut   Another issue is that many are sponsored by a company, jewelry or makeup. Some also provide discount codes to a site.

Time after time I've seen Mods delete a post with the message "contains advertisements."

@CoffeeNut

That doesn't make sense tho.  I was told I could send the NAME of the video.  What's the difference?  And yes, you're right.  I got a reply and links to videos are not permitted (but this is)...

@dooBdoo

LINKS are not allowed.  I got a reply from QVC Social.  But, you can send the title of the YT video according to this answer from QVC Facebook convo a few months ago.

Re: Email to QVC Social Team

That is my understanding @monicakm you can post anything as long as it is not a live link.

Once I posted a link to a video about a health issue and my post was taken down because it contained political advertisement.  Which was funny because for me it didn't.  Ads are tailored to the person that opens the page.  My guess is someone tried the link and got a political ad and complained.

But as you know, there is no way to appeal because that can get a poster banned for "challenging moderation", which is not alllowed at all.  So I just post enough information so that someone can get the right thing by searching.

No way around it, I think.

Re: Email to QVC Social Team

I've been banned at least 3 times.  Maybe 4 with the last time saying "this is the last time" Smiley Surprised  I c/p a paragraph helping some one with a shoe return.  There was a tiny link embedded in the paragraph that I did not see.  I see NO ads on ANY webpage because I use the AdBlock extension and the U Block extension.  It's showing that it's blocked 20 ads on THIS page and 971,747 since installed.  Wow, that's nearly a million ads LOL

Look ma, no ads!
