Easiest eyeliner?

[ Edited ]

I am pretty old and don't wear a lot of makeup, but I was watching today when A 591266 came on---tarte smolder eyes eyeliner duo which looked pretty easy to put on. I was always leery of putting eyeliner on and getting it in my eye and avoided eyeliner. But this new product seemed thicker and easier to go on. Of course the before and after pictures were deceiving since the after pictures included False Eyelashes or heavy mascara. Anyway, I was thinking of trying it, but $32 plus shipping and tax seems like quite a lot since I can buy eyeliner at the drugstore for less than $5. What is the easiest eyeliner to put on without getting it in my eye? Thanks.

@geegerbee, I didn't watch the presentation but thought those liners look big and chunky. I think as we age we want as little and as fine a line as possible. I think a heavy hand looks harsh. In fact I never completely line both upper and lower lids.

Over the years I've used more types and brands than I can remember.

I have never once come close to getting a liner in my eye.

But I'v also never subscribed to what I think is the ridiculous drawing inside the lid, the waterline concept. Too me it looks bazaar and super phony and distracting.

The most recent eyeline I bought was drugstore brand Revlon Colorstay gel pencil liner. Under $10. I'm happy with it and it does stay on until I take it off.

Buy a magnifying mirror. Will help putting on eye makeup, especially eyeliner.

@Desertdi, I thought @geegerbee was referring to item #A591266.

Yes, I made a mistake---guess those old eyes aren't seeing the numbers correctly. I meant the product that ends in 66. I changed it in the original post. Thanks for the correction.

Personally, I don't like chunky eyeliners  I guess I would suggest either a skinny gel pencil or you could use an angled liner brush with a dark eyeshadow.  Also, you don't have to do it one swoop.  You can do connecting dashes if that helps.

I do line the inside of my bottom lashes, but not the waterline.  I haven't found one that will actually go on my waterline, but I just use the ridge where my eyelashes grow out.  I can almost do it by feel.  With my round eyes, if I put eyeliner underneath the lashes it would just emphasize the roundness and end up looking like raccoon eyes.

I've been using the Laura Gellar Kajal liners on the bottom, but they're too thick for my upper lash line.  Wish she would make them in a skinny version.
