Dyson Hairdryer... Am I Doing This Wrong?

I have heard so many people rave about how much they love their Dyson blowdryer.  I finally caved and bought it to try, and my hair has never looked worse.  Am I doing something wrong?

I have difficult hair that has always required careful blowdrying with a round brush to make it smooth and make the ends curl under properly.  When I take the time, it can look great.  My hair is long and thinner texture, but it has plenty of body and volume.  Somehow with the Dyson it has come out looking flat and very dry, despite trying it on a lower heat setting.  It's also incredibly frizzy!  I've tried different speed settings, but it's like the Dyson blows my hair all over the place until it's a frizzy mess! (All my hair products that have always worked well have stayed the same.)

Those of you who love your Dyson, is there a certain attachment or technique that you have found works well for you?  I'm trying to achieve a basic smooth blow out without frizz.

I've tried this five mornings now and everytime have ended up pulling my hair back or putting it in a bun for work!  Advice please!

I bought the Dyson twice because I thought I must have done something wrong too. But it just didn't work for me - flat, no body.

@rissajaneen   Dyson has "how to" tutorials regarding their dryer & its attachments on YouTube.

I don't have Dyson, but do you have a diffuser?

@ECBG It did come with a diffuser attachment... oh my gosh... that was the worst hair day yet!  My hair was nothing but frizz.  I was under the impression that a diffuser attachment is normally used for curly hair.  Am I wrong?

@rissajaneen

The NO diffuser is too hard and forcefull on hair and creates frizz.

You can see my hair in "Outfit of....".  I use Kensie Styling Lotion that is really a pump cream; then Se..xy Hair Gel in the red pump bottle.  Get ready to say good bye to frizz!  CK Amazon!  Then I dry with diffuser.

@rissajaneen I think this is not a blowdryer that works for everyone.

I have very thick, naturally curly hair, and a lot of it. My Dyson blowdryer was my worst purchase, ever!!!

Glad it works for some, but I looked like I had been out in a windstorm by the time my hair was dry! Not a good look!Smiley LOL

Save some coin and get the Shark Hyper Air. It was preferred more to the Dyson and it’s only 150.00. Used it and very very happy with it.

@rissajaneen

My stylist ended up selling her Dyson because she couldn't depend on it to work well for all hair types. I bought the Shark and let her try it, and she said it was better.

Its disappointing when you invest in NEW BIG THING and it doesn't work for you.

@rissajaneen   Same here @rissajaneen , my stylist purchased it and did not like it.

He said it was one big waste of money.  It ended up in donation.

I still like the babyliss and most of the salon stylist's use it too.
