I'm 46 and I feel your pain!  Lately my skin is dryer too, with the cooler weather and we live in CA which is even more dry all year.  I cannot live without Peter Thomas Roth's FirmX peel, I can see the dry skin literally rub off, and it's so fun to do.  I use that twice a week and love the Alpha Hydrox alpha hydroxy serum and lotions for my face. I usally get those online, but they are also at Ulta.  Very inexpensive!  I usually mix marajuca or marula oil in with the alphy hydrox lotion at night and my skin glows!  If I'm really dry I'll had some aquafor or another thick night cream on top at night.  I wear a light moisturizer and cc cream during the day.  But a gentle exfoliation every few days is a must or your moisturizers or oils won't help. 

 

I'm also using cetaphil cleanser a lot more now.  It doesn't leave my skin dry.  I got a huge two pack with the pump at Sam's!
