Re: Dry Eyelids and Eye Shadow -- will a primer help this?

[ Edited ]

I was diagnosed with Blepharitis.  I wash my eyelids with baby shampoo after using makeup remover at night and a little aquafor or antibiotic ointment near the lashes helps me stay flake free!

@ladygirl

I have Blepharitis, too!  I have had it for a couple of years now.  But I have had very oily lids with this until just recently.  This is a very new development for me -- just in the last couple weeks.

I never even noticed I had this until I decided to start using eye shadow again. Without it, my lids look normal.  They are not red or irritated.  A couple of doctors have told me that my actual eyes are very dry and I use moisturizing drops a lot.  I wouldn't think that using these would do that though, would it?  Well, if it keeps on or gets worse, I will see about it.

I have never used this type of oil.  Is is free of fragrance and light?

I haven't tried anything new around my eyes that I can think of???  I do have coconut oil.  Maybe I will try a little of this.

What is Aquaphor exactly?  Is it a lotion or cream?  Just want to know exactly what to look for.

I am always afraid that if I use something too rich around my eye area that I will get those milia things which I do have a problem with.  Does this product seem to do that to you?

I never used to be able to wear cream shadows.  Boy, everything changes when you get older!

I haven't been wearing shadow for a while.  I was going to a special event and wanted to look a little bit more glam (LOL) so I started applying and then --- looked -- and thought -- well, what is going on with my eye lids???  Had to remove and start over again --- without the shadow.  So, yes, until I get this cleared up or figure out how to address, I will have to forego the shadow, I fear!!!

I hope it is not.  It is not red or itchy.  I will wait a bit more beforing seeing a doctor.  I am constantly going for something.
