Dr. Denise and her Super-Sizes: I won't buy anymore Super Sizes of hers or anybody's.

I bought her Super-Size moisturizer, and halfway through it went bad. It got thick, muddy and smelled bad.

Did this happen overnight or was there a gradual change in the product?  Did you use it daily or did you let it sit for a while?

Never had a product go bad like that.  I have Dr. DENESE's products.  Never had an issue.

I have many products go bad in large containers. Especially many of mine have few preservatives.  I keep in dark drawer, where temp doesn't change a lot. But they can change color. Perricone does, Nutura Bisse and a few others.

If I buy a large container of a skincare product, not often, then I usually take some out and put it into a smaller container and store the original one in the fridge. I only take out what I would use in a month's time, if that, and that way the main container stays fresher longer in the fridge. Prolong the shelf life of oils in the fridge also.

@febe1   I also had one of my Dr. Denese products go bad...thick and gooey. That's the only problem I've had...thankfully.

I am OVER buying the gigantic, colossal, uber mega sized-----stuff too. Maybe you save $$ but not if halfway thru, it all goes bad and you have to dump it. I buy just enough to use up in a decent amount of time and then buy more, if needed.  That goes for make up, shampoos, and food and other things too. I have no space to store all that right now.

I dont like Super sizes of facial skin care, I like to try new things especially if something I am using is not giving me noticeable results.

@SilleeMee   That's an idea.  Hadn't thought of that in a while. I used to do it with extra perfume. Didn't think of cream.

Back in the early days of Philosophy and some other brands, I loved super sizes since I was very brand loyal.  Since we have so many newer brands available now, I don't use the same product lines all the time.  It makes no sense to get the super sizes since I like to try newer products and the industry is advancing all the time.  Same thing with eye shadow palettes and hair care products.  Times have changed for me.

I have a hydroshield that's probably nearly two years old.  I leave it in the bedroom, too humid in the bathroom.  Plus it's got a good pump.  I haven't had any issues.  Sometimes when I think they have duo's so low, I wonder if they are dumping old product.   (Many mfrs, not just Dr. Denese).
