Does limited edition discourage you from purchasing?

I hate falling in love with a product only to know that it won't be available for future purchase. I have a tendency to want to purchase backups but that isn't a good idea for me because I frequently develop allergies but I know that there is always the possibility of finding something I like even more in the future. Lately I dont even purchase limited edition items to avoid the heart break of not being able to get it again. Anyone else?
