I love my Philosophy 3 in 1s. But I'm looking for a healthier, less expensive alternative. In doing some research on vitacost, I can across a black soap body wash. Has anyone used it, or something similar? Did you like it? How did it treat your skin?
I've not tried the version you've mentioned, but did buy the bar version from Shea Terra Organics some time ago (probably a couple of years ago by now). We found it to be extremely drying.

I have only used the bar version too. And only once because it left my skin extremely squeaky clean. Not a good feeling. If you try it, try getting one with Shea butter or something else mixed in.
I am trying to find a shower gel that is more natural too and isn't loaded with fragrances and other stuff. I am currently trying dr bronners baby mild Castile soap and I am not sure how I am liking it. Jury is still out.

I have purchased black bar soap and also found it to be extremely drying. I had to throw it away.

In the summer/warmer weather I use Erno Laszlo's mud soap but it is really for facial cleansing. It is about 45- a bar and lasts 4-5 months used as a facialcleanser. Take a look at Nordies or Sephora for this. Shea Terra makes a black body soap but I have never tried it b/c I have dryer skin. Good luck.

I have not used black soap, but here is an alternative to Philosophy. Cerave baby wash and shampoo. It has ceramide, niacinamide, and hyaluronic acid. Does not contain parabens, sulfate, fragrance, or gluten. I do not like fragrance in a wash as I find it very drying and irrating.

I had some black soap (given to me by my mom b/c my father had a skin condition) threw it away because at the time I had no use for it.
Now I wish I still had it to try on some skin conditions.

African Black Soap is too drying for me, too. I did use Shea Moisture African Black Soap as a body soap. I didn't find it as drying because it has other ingredients (African Black Soap Base, African Shea Butter, Oats, Aloe, Plantain Extract, Vitamin E, Essential Blend Oil Blend, Vegetable Glycerin, Palm Ash, Rosemary Extract, Iron Oxides) with the black soap as a base. It did make my shower look ugly with the soap residue, though.

Ms IWantCoffee - I've seen this in my local cvs. Have you used this on your hair? How does it work for you? Do you feel you need a conditioner for your hair afterwoards? I'm curious.
I could easily go to this product for both shower & hair.
