Does Target accept cosmetics returns?

I purchased 2 products that are the absolute wrong color. Of course, since there are no testers I tried my best to select shades just by observing thru a bottle. Will they accept used cosmetic returns (with receipt)? Thanks

My daughter actually works at a Target Guest Service counter. She says they get makeup returns all the time. You shouldn't have a problem.

Everybody accepts everything which is why prices are so high. I've seen people bring back canned food, and since it can't be re-shelved, it gets thrown out.

Re: Does Target accept cosmetics returns?

I don't think you should have any problem exchanging/returning. All of the d/s retailers take returns. I recently had to take two items back to CVS--kind of unusual, I usually don't return makeup, but I bought a Maybelline eyebrow pencil that was dry and crumbly, a few days later, a Physician's Formula concealer that was opened at the the bottom (you could only see the top part of the tube in the packaging).

Funny, we have two CVS stores in our town, I've rarely had a problem at one of them, I bought both of these at the other store and I don't think they rotate their stock often enough. Anyhow, I think everyone takes returns, or at least exchanges.

Not anymore! I purchased lipgloss that didn't work out for me. Took it back to the store and as of 2 months ago they do not accept any makeup returns. Guess I won't be purchasing cosmetics there.

No thought is worth thinking.....

Re: Does Target accept cosmetics returns?

This is Target's official return policy. It is more stringent than most stores, IMO:

refund/exchange policy
Most unopened items in new condition returned within 90 days will receive a refund or exchange. Some items have a modified return policy. Those items will show either a “return by” or "return within" day range under the item on your receipt or packing slip and in the "Item details, shipping" tab if purchased on Target.com. Items that are opened or damaged or do not have a packing slip or receipt may be denied a refund or exchange. All bundled items must be returned with all components for a refund. Some items, such as gift cards, are never returnable.

exceptions
Returns and exchanges without a receipt may be limited, other restrictions may apply.

Open music, movies, video games and software cannot be returned, but may be exchanged for the same title, for the same or different gaming platform.

Open or defective collectibles (e.g., sports cards, special-edition Barbie dolls, porcelain dolls, action figures and die-cast cars) cannot be returned.

The following items must be returned within 30 days: netbooks, laptops, eReaders, tablets, cameras, camcorders, digital audio players, GPS systems, video game hardware, personal DVD players, and no-contract cell phones.

For these items purchased between 11/1-12/25, the 30 day refund period will start on 12/26.
Halloween costumes and accessories must be returned by 10/31.
Different return policies may apply for contract cell phones.

Every place has to take back cosmetics, unopened or not

No, they don't. They can set their own policy as they see fit.

Re: Does Target accept cosmetics returns?

Returning makeup and skincare whether opened or not is not an option in most countries. It is an option that I rarely choose to exercise. I am grateful that I do have that option.

Re: Does Target accept cosmetics returns?

UPDATE: I just came from Target and they took back all the cosmetic items...no questions asked. They gave me my money back, no hassles.
