I'm going to start looking into dry brushing and Gua Sha for lymphatic drainage.

@monicakm you are amazing. Leave it to you to mention something I have no clue about. What is it? I'm always interested to hear of your finds, new products or steps in your beauty routine.

@monicakm I considered it years ago. I think I bought something from Skinn that came with a tool similar to your picture, but never consistently implemented it into my routine. A lot of practitioners use a jade stone. You can find them on Amazon but many are fakes. I'm not sure if it makes a big difference. I do a little bit of facial massage techniques when I'm cleansing and my face is slippery, just using my fingertips - no tool required.

I had to look it up because I have no idea what Gua Sha is.
I don't take stock in beauty tools like that because I think they're over priced and have no idea if they help. For those who use the products, I hope that it's money well spent.

@monicakm I've had a Gua Sha for years but I'm not consistent about using it. I think you're supposed to use it at least 3 times a week for it to be effective. It does feel nice and some people swear by it. There are a ton of videos/articles online about how to use it. Just be sure to use a good facial oil or a serum with a lot of slip so that it slides easily over your skin. They are pretty inexpensive, so worth a try if you're interested. Your post makes me want to pul mine out and start using it again!
I love dry brushing, I usually do it twice a week before I shower. I usually look for my brushes at TJ Maxx/Marshalls so they're not expensive. Just don't be too vigorous with the brushing when you first start until you see how your skin reacts.

No, I would never keep it up.

My massage therapist uses one on my in conjunction with therapeutic cupping. There's nothing like it to relieve that tension in the upper shoulders/below the neck area. Sometimes after a massage when she uses the gua sha a lot I'm up in the night peeing. It's detoxing in the right hands.
Never used one on my face but I've read that you can buy one made from rose quartz, which is intriguing.

One of the dermatologist I follow on TikTok sad that it will do nothing for your skin or face. He said use it as a relaxation method.

@monicakm Many times, such a tool (I had no idea of the name of it) can come with a Quartz or Jade face roller. I think I have one that was part of the Jade/Quartz kit. I keep them in the fridge, which of course, is "out of sight, out of mind," as part if my routine.
But I am interested in others who may use this tool, & under which circumstances.
As others have mentioned, leave it to yr happy research, & curiosity @monicakm to discover such as tool, & ask this. I'm glad.

Gua Shas can be used for a number of things. It supposed to be able to even sculpt your face but I don't know if that works or not. Like I said, I want to start lymphatic drainage. I think that's the cause for a lot of my issues. Dry brushing is good for this as well. There are all shapes and sizes of lymphatic drainage tools for different parts of the body. Dry brushing helps with circulation, detox and more. I've never done it and altho I know what it is and how it works, I have a lot to learn before I get started.
