Do you use different foundations or do you rotate what you use?

I have quite a few different brands of foundations. I'm not just loyal to one. Here are a few I like and use. For reference, I don't have a lot to cover. I just have a few capillaries and some redness. I've never had acne prone skin and therefore I have no scarring or hyperpigmentation to cover. I have normal skin, not oily.

Estée Laude Double Wear - I like this for the coverage and longevity. I'll use this for an all day event.

TirTir foundation - I bought this because of seeing it on YT and I really like it. Not heavy at all. Decent coverage. I think the key is using it with the sponge it came with.

Makeup Forever HD - I bought the smaller size of this from Sephora. It has good coverage.

Color Science - this is a sunscreen that adjusts as you apply it. I mainly use this in the summer because it's lightweight and it's decent coverage. A little goes a long way.

Those are the ones I use the most. My preferred way to apply is a sponge, except for the Color Science, which is applied like a lotion with your hands.

What are some of your staples and favorites? Just curious! I may need to try something that you like. 😊

Re: Do you use different foundations or do you rotate what you use?

@wvumountiefan  I personally gave up on foundations. All of them, and I tried many, always made my pores very visible, and I have small pores, or felt heavy, looked cakey, color wasn't right, etc etc. So, I finally invested in a very nice lightly tinted face powder. It makes my skin literally look airbrushed. It is expensive, but you get a lot of product, don't need much of it, and it is well worth it. It also doesn't oxidize on the skin like most foundations do. That's my 2 cents.

[ Edited ]

@wvumountiefan  -  For years, I've been using IT CC Cream applied with a damp sponge.  Some say that it's "thick", but whe applied with a damp sponge, it sheers it out to perfection for me.

I've got the TirTir in my aresenal, but didn't use it because I ordered the wrong color (twice).  One too dark and one too light.  I need to mix the two one day.

I really want to try EL Double Wear.  I haven't used anything else because the IT works well for me.  But I'm willing to branch out.

I like that you use a variety.

I jump between IT CC cream and Laura Geller's Balance & Brighten.

Re: Do you use different foundations or do you rotate what you use?

@wvumountiefan  - This is a fun post.  I recently did a foundation purge and have some set aside to see if I really want to keep them.  Will list the ones I decided to keep.

IT CC Cream - In the Glow version.  I love this and it seems to like my skin too.  It's thinner than the original, lasts well on me all day, doesn't separate on my chin or nose, coverage is good for me, shade is good too.    I'll always have this in my collection.

ELF - Soft Glam Foundation.  Love this one also.  Looks great, staying power is good, and, for me, is right up there with the IT CC cream..

Fenty Beauty - Stick foundation.  The color match on this for me is unbelievably good.  Coverage is light and staying power is ok.  I like using this because it's quick.

Maybelline - Super Stay 24 Hour Skin Tint.  It really is good and for a skin tint the coverage and staying power is good too.

L'Oreal - True Match N*de Hyaluronic Tinted Serum.  Like this too.  The coverage and staying power is not bad but not as good as the Maybelline. Still like it though.

Re: Do you use different foundations or do you rotate what you use?

I do change up foundations. It depends on the situation. Do I need full coverage or just a nice tinted serum...and I have a few.

-Hourglass Foundation Stick

-ELF Soft Glam

-Laura Geller Balance and Brighten

-Pur Mineral Foundation

-Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue

-L'Oreal Nude Tinted Serum

-Maybelline Super Stay Skin Tint

All do different things for me and all work well!

My favorite foundation and the one I am wearing today is bareMinerals loose foundation. It's my favorite because I get a good shade match and looks better on me than a liquid foundation hours later.

I have a liquid and pressed powder by Maybelline. I got a shade too dark for liquid so haven't worn that much. It will look okay when I first put it on but later, not so good.

I've been wearing estee lauder double wear for close to thirty years, my daughter wears it also.  For me nothing compares.

@wvumountiefan

I used to not understand why someone would have more than one foundation for different scenarios.  I understand now.  Lancome Tient Idole for full glam.  Rose Inc for sheer glam.  Nars Light Reflecting for every day.

Shiseido for glam but I don't think it's as full coverage as Lancome.  Natasha Denona powder foundation...mostly used for my chin on top of a liquid.  My chin seems to be the first thing to need touched up, which works great.  I should toss my Fenty liquid foundations because I never reach for them anymore.  The Ordinary tinted serum foundations are good too.  Too bad they stopped making it.
