Re: Do you have a favorite exfoliating peel pad?

So if I exfoliate once weekly w/ Dr Nassif.....how do I incorporate a peeling pad into my routine? I have dry skin. It's slightly better; my thyroid med has helped some with that. But I still struggle with all day hydration. I usually use the two step system at night.
Glycolic peel pads aren't harsh are they? I'm just seeing more texture and pores than I'd like to see and once weekly exfoliation doesn't seem to be enough. Tia

Good question @Midmod  as I'm also never sure where to add them into my routine.

@Midmod - IMO, you get better results if you do some kind of gentle exfoliation daily and consistently.  If you use a pad daily you could probably eliminate the Dr. Nassif 2-step thing.  However, if you want to stick with the Nassif system, then I will reiterate my recommendation on the muslin washcloths.  Use them whenever you wash your face and they will gently exfoliate throughout the week and you can continue with Nassif on your usual day.  If you try this and still want a pad, you can do it daily or a few times a week.  Just don't use your glycolic pad at the same time when you may be using a retinol or Tretinoin. I use my Dr. Denese pads in the morning because I use Tretinoin at night.

@JeanLouiseFinch  - When you use your exfoliation pad in the morning, do you wait a few minutes  - maybe 5 or 10 - before continuing with your other serums, etc.?

No, not really, @JudyL.  Maybe enough for a dry down but then I get everything done. Boom!  I'll wait a little bit after the moisturizer before I go into primer and foundation.

@JeanLouiseFinch  - Yes I am up early.  Been awake since 4:45.  I'm ok, just dealing with some health stuff that wakes me up and then I can't go back to sleep.  Also, it's been stinkin' hot here for days now.  I'm about a block from the SF Bay so its usually not hot here and we've been mid to high 90's since Tuesday!  Ugh.  Most people here don't have AC and it's been awful as it's not cooling down much at night.  So glad I bought my portable AC unit last Spring.  I'm about to move all my lipsticks, glosses into the living room during the day when I have the AC on because my bedroom gets soooo hot!

Oh boy, I know how that is.  I have crazy sleep patterns.  It's impossible to get good sleep when it's so hot.  By all means, protect the lippies!  I hope you'll  feel better and can get a nap in today.

@JeanLouiseFinch  - Thank you for asking how I'm doing.  A nap very well may happen.  The saving grace in all this heat is that at least the sun is going down earlier now.

Keep in mind that products containing AHAs could interfere with other skincare actives such as peptides, copper peptides, some vitamin C serums and also niacinamide.
