I have if I know the person's likes well.  I don't make a habit of it though.

Thanks for all your responses!  I didn't realize lipsticks, etc., were such popular gifts.

I got DD going with Bare Minerals years ago. Now its a staple every Christmas.

I once gave Philosophy.........but the recipient looked at it like it was from the $ store........................

I have with my daughters and grandaughters, if they have asked for some.  I do give my GD Edward Bess lipstick, my daughter has asked for Perricone No Make Up Makeup in the past.  I get them other things, and add lipsticks and nail polishes as a little gift.

Giving makeup can be really tricky ..... and usually not returnable!!    This year I'm giving out a few Ulta gift certificates, so they can enjoy "the thrill of the hunt".

Only if they asked for a specific item.   Some of the kits QVC sells would make very nice gifts.
