For bronzer or blush I find you can get away with a cheaper brand brush. Just look for one that is soft, fluffy, and synthetic hair should be fine.

For a foundation brush, High quality is better.. Finer, and softer bristles will be less streaky. I tend to use a sponge since I hate cleaning out brushes and I can throw away cheap sponges every couple of weeks. Harmons has these really cute flower sponges that are great for getting concealer/foundation under the eye area.

Real Techniques Blush or Powder brushes are lovely for sweeping on bronzer. Brand is very reasonable and at Ulta, WalMart, amazon.com
